Walking the Cotswold Way with Mickledore was amazing!

At the daytime walking in the beautifull hills of the Cotswolds and at night the luxurieus B & B's was good for a most fantastic hollyday!

Doing the coast-to-coast walk was an enjoyable and personally satisfying experience

My wife and I walked the coast-to-coast trail over a period of three weeks in the month of May 2015. We did this in 17 walking days plus two rest days - one day each in Grasmere and Richmond. Despite some inclement weather in the early part of the trip, the overall experience was terrific. As we think about the walk and relate our experiences to family and friends, we are getting a better perspective on it…a greater appreciation of all the aspects ...

Despite some inclement weather in the early part of the trip, the overall experience was terrific. As we think about the walk and relate our experiences to family and friends, we are getting a better perspective on it…a greater appreciation of all the aspects of the walk that have made it a personally satisfying experience – the people we met, the landscapes we saw, the helpful and welcoming hosts at our accommodations, and ultimately the satisfaction of navigating the trail and completing the walk.

Mickledore Travel was excellent from start to finish. They made our accommodations quickly and efficiently. As we read the package of materials, Mickledore staff were available and helpful in answering our questions, which assisted us significantly in our preparations for our self-guided trip. And Mickledore staff were accessible and accommodating when we required assistance partway through the walk when my wife severely strained a ligament in her ankle. Overall, we felt Mickledore was there to support us throughout the trip.

"OUTSTANDING"

We had a wonderful adventure thanks to the work of Mickeldore. The arrangements made for us were great-the lodging, meals and transfer of luggage exceeded expectations. The beauty of the walk along Hadrians's wall was out of this world.

HADRIAN WALL NATIONAL TRAIL

This was my third holiday organised by Mickledore. It was a walking holiday staying each night at a different B and B.

Rating for tour operator:

They arranged my accommodation and for my luggage to be transported each day to my next B and B. The information they also provided was excellent. Their choice of accommodation couldn't have been bettered.

Amazing Coastal Walk

This is excellent easy walking in an area with much to see. I chose the 6 day option, which is very easily manageable form the walking aspect, for someone wanting to explore the coastal villages I would recommend at least min 5/6 days, and better still I would recommend staying an extra night in, say, Alnmouth and taking a day to explore Alnwick- the castle, garden and bookshop could easily fill a day. The beaches were virtually deserted even on the two very sunny days. As the tide was well out during most of our walking we chose the beach options where relevant: huge seascapes and a profusion of wild flowers on the dunes. This was my third trip with Mickledore and as expected the organization was flawless and the accommodation was never less than good and some were excellent.

Rating for tour operator:

Mickledore look after all the small details such as maps, relevant walking books, bus and train timetables, directions to the overnight accommodations along with pubs and restaurants in the area you are staying in.

Completing the Coast to Coast

Having completed the first half of the Coast to Coast two years ago, my friend and I completed the walk in May this year. We had a very enjoyable time, the weather was good and it was nice to meet so many people from all over the world doing the same walk.

Rating for tour operator:

I would rate Mickledore very highly as a tour operator. Every time we have used them they have booked excellent accommodation and the luggage transfer service was very efficient. The luggage turned up on time and in the right place at each overnight stop. They will also do everything they can to accommodate your requirements and the Travel Pack provided was very comprehensive, even including maps and books.

Great walk with good selection of B&Bs

Dales Way from Ilkley to Bowness on Windermere. 7 days walking with all accommodation en route. The information pack told me all I needed to know with a detailed map of the route and an excellent guide book.
