Orkney and Shetland Revealed
I was keen to see what Orkney and Shetland were like and I feel I gained a very good impression of the islands in a short time. I wanted to go as far north as I could go and made it to about three miles from the most northerly point. I was also keen to experience the 'simmer dim' which thanks to good weather I did. My other main aim was to see the sea birds and at Sumburgh Head I saw more than I could have hoped for. The puffins were an absolute ...

My hotels were comfortable and welcoming; the food delicious. The weather was OK too.

It was so good to have so many of the details arranged for me and everything ran smoothly. It was very useful to receive a full package of guidance some weeks before so that I could plan exactly what I wanted to do. The help of the company enabled me to undertake a journey I might other wise not have taken. I am grateful for the help given and would consider another holiday with the company in the future.

Wonderful tour of Scotland and a touch of Ireland
We travelled by train for 10 days from Edinburgh back to Glasgow, covering the highlands, and Isle of Skye. We took extra time on the Isle of Skye and in Edinburgh and I think I would have added more time in Glasgow. Trains were a great option for those who don't want to drive. We spent 3 days in Dublin, and a day trip to the Wicklow Mountains - beautiful. I would go back and discover Ireland more next time.

I had several issues on my trip and McKinley Kidd was there to assist me. We encountered an airline strike and they were on the phone 24/7 just making sure we was ok. They arranged to cancel my lodging for the night as we were not going to make it. We also had a rail strike in Scotland and they got us a taxi for alternate transportation. Made sure we were aware of this in plenty of time.
Many thanks for your kind review. I am glad that the various travel "challenges" you encountered did not spoil the overall experience.

Jacobit Steam Train plus several days on the Isle of Skye
We flew to Edinburgh and spent the afternoon and night - trained it to Fort William via Glasgow - Jacobite Steam Train - to Malliaig. Ferry delayed McKinlay Kidd quick to arrange alternative. Car hired and drove around Skye. Accommodation arranged by McKinlay Kidd excellent - information and suggestions excellent. Dunvegan Castle and gardens plus seal boat most pleasant. Driving around Skye very relaxing and scenery wonderful. Another night ...

Emails back and forth resulted in a perfect schedule, accommodation etc. McKinlay Kidd were friendly and efficient and patient :-)

A 'Bucket List' wish fulfilled.
At relatively short notice McKinlay Kidd organised a trouble free holiday with excellent maps and information. The hotels arranged for us were delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the numerous islands. Our hobby of bird watching was more than satisfied.

McKinlay Kidd were unknown to us prior to reading a website. Over the months prior to commencing our holiday they were great in meeting our needs and in offering a range of options that best suited our needs - if we are in the same neck of the woods again we will be sure to use their services

Exploring the Outer Hebrides
This involved staying in 5 hotels, 2 nights at each. We started on the southern-most island of Barra, and ended up on Lewis, before sailing to Skye for our last 2 nights. This was an excellent holiday to an area of Scotland we had not visited before.

Tailor-made Car-free Aran Islands
Wanted to do something great for a special occasion and whilst the standard trip was not available for the dates we wanted,McKinlay Kidd were able to come up with a tailor-made alternative which was just as good. Throughout the trip everything was in place for when we arrived in Galway and then flew over to the Aran Islands and stayed in a lovely B&B that went out of its way to make us welcome and looked after our needs.

McKinlay Kidd were able to put together a tailor-made trip for us providing good advice on transport options and the amounts of time needed to complete different legs of the journeys between stops. Made all the arrangements so everything was in place and we were expected at every destination.

Wonderful Scotland
Touring the North West Highlands - completed the North Coast 500. McKinlay Kidd offered the route schedule, recommending cafes, and everything was perfect. Accommodation was of a mixed variety from Hotel, B & B, Michelin rated restaurants with rooms. All food was excellent

We went to the Royal Highland show-Scotland`s showcase for agricultural and countryside pursuits and products. We visited the Botanical gardens-with its magnificent glasshouses and we spent hours in the Museum of Edinburgh, visiting the amazing Celtic exhibition. We went to swim in the Commonwealth pool-this pool used also for Olympic training. As we were slightly exhausted after all that, we took a day tour to Loch Lomond and Stirling Castle with a flying visit to The Kelpies! We stayed in a comfortable and welcoming hotel which Mckinlay Kidd found for us.
