Southern Ireland Gourmet Tour
First class hotels with gourmet food and included excursions with the emphasis on food starting in Galway and ending near Waterford following a large part of the Wild Atlantic Way. We had a great time and were very happy with the itinerary arranged by McKinley Kidd.

Wonderful experience traveling through Scotland by train!
McKinlay and Kidd scheduled and planned a detailed itinerary for us throughout the Highlands of Scotland. We had specific locations we wanted to visit and wanted to travel exclusively by train. They met our wishes well and added their own recommendations that were very greatly appreciated. All transportation, drivers, taxi's, hotels, train tickets, etc that were promised were delivered. Very dependable and professional. Thank you!

Getaway to York
Almost four days based in York: what a fantastic city and what a great way to experience it. McKinlay Kidd has a knack of finding high quality, small hotels with owners with a passion to create a great visitor experience. Particular highlights were the railway museum, the Minster (of course) the York Castle museum and perhaps every tea room in York. I swear we visited them all.....and they were all good. An extra highlight however had to be the train journey to Ribblehead through the Yorkshire Dales. What beautiful countryside and what a wonderful way to see it. The whole experience was an undeniable success.

Following our trip to Skye two years ago we had evidence of a very thoughtful tour operator driven to find unique, friendly and well-run hotels. Our most recent trip to York further cemented this view as with their finding the StDenys Hotel in New York. The train tickets, York Pass and promised briefing documents we all delivered and, best of all, the hotel was expecting us.....no booking snafus with this team! Finally they are always very quick to respond to e-mails and answer questions. A first rate operation!

Entering another world
Everything was up to our expectations - the empty roads, not many paying car parks. free to roam where ever we wished - history around every corner. goods food in unexpected places - caravan parks, art centres and the Shetland Sunday teas! What a good idea for raising funds and giving locals and visitors a chance to meet up. We are planning to visit again. this time by ferry and in our own car. Just have to decide when!

A wonderful experience
Our holiday in Scotland was a wonderful experience. We stayed in luxury hotels and spent time in some spectacular locations. We enjoyed it so much that we didn't even get out off too much by the rainy weather.

Mckinlay Kidd were fantastic. We felt looked after during the entire journey. All the arrangements were spot on and when Scotrail announced a strike on a day we were due to travel the tour operator made alternative arrangements at no additional cost and made sure they were able to contact us to inform us of the changes. All went smoothly and to plan.

Superb experience
We travelled from Glasgow to Spean Bridge to stay at The Old Pines Hotel for a 2 night break with a trip on The Jacobite Steam Experience included. This excursion took us on a fabulous 84 mile round trip from Fort William to Mallaig. Every aspect of our break was wonderful. The locations was breath-taking & all our needs were cater for at the hotel too.

McKinley Kidd arranged everything for us including pick ups & transfers to & from the train stations & hotel & the first class excursion on the Jacobite steam train experience. With courtesy calls to ensure all was it should be, we were given a top class service & would highly recommend McKinley Kidd to anyone.

McKinlay Kidd provide Win- Win Holidays
I had a 4-day break travelling on the West Highland Way heading for the Isle of Skye. Rail strikes on both the day of departure and return meant that, very shortly before I left Edinburgh, the travel arrangements had to be changed completely so that I could still go but by bus, not train, and with taxis meeting me at different places (e.g. at Fort William instead of Spean Bridge). Everything went smoothly, but this is what you can expect from ...

This was my third holiday arranged by McKinlay Kidd. Each time they provided a great service - thorough planning, flawless choices and recommendations, and personal touches which make you feel valued as a customer from the first contact they make with you. The company knows exactly what you will experience BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN THERE BEFORE YOU!
Many thanks indeed for your kind comments Emma. I am very pleased that the train strikes did not spoil the trip overall.

a first visit to the wonderful outer hebrides
The Otter aircraft landed us on the beach at Barra after which we spent 7 days touring north through South Uist , Bebecula , North Uist ,Harris and Lewis ..The beaches at Vatarsay on Barra and those on Harris must be among the most spectacular in the world ; huge expanses of white sand and no one in sight . The RSPB reserve at Balranald was a blaze of wild flowers as the Crofters do not use chemicals on their crops .The Callinish standing stones ...

The RSPB reserve at Balranald was a blaze of wild flowers as the Crofters do not use chemicals on their crops .The Callinish standing stones on Lewis , the Iron Age house on Great Bernera ,and the Blackhouse Village are just some of the reminders of our past from prehistory up to the nineteenth century ,and which really enhance the holiday experience . We are already planning to return .

At all times communications were excellent , written , email and verbal contact could not have been better . The arrangements were delivered precisely as promised . The travel pack included very useful notes , a Philip's red book map and a book of walks all of which proved invaluable . We have already recommended McKinlay Kidd to friends and would use them again .
Many thanks Robert. We are all delighted you enjoyed your first taste of the Outer Hebrides.

Stimulating and refreshing adventure!
A week in Orkney ( Mainland and Westray) introduced us to some Scottish Islands we have not visited properly before. Mainland impressed us with its fascinating WW2 history and world class neolithic sites. Westray has many as yet barely developed treasures to explore and the local residents fascinated us with stories of their pioneering multi-tasking. The one hotel in Westray in Pierowall deserves a special mention for providing really varied ...

The accommodation in the Highlands en route was quite excellent.
