An Outstanding Scotland Holiday
We spent 8 days traveling by rail from Edinburgh to Pitlochry to Inverness to Isle of Skye to Spean Bridge to Glasgow. It was out first time to Scotland and this was a great introduction to the people, landscape, and culture. Our lodging and transportation needs were expertly arranged and, for the most part, went flawlessly (e.g., that British Airways lost my bag inbound and it took 4 days to catch-up with us was no fault of McKinley-Kidd). ...

Our lodging and transportation needs were expertly arranged and, for the most part, went flawlessly (e.g., that British Airways lost my bag inbound and it took 4 days to catch-up with us was no fault of McKinley-Kidd). It tended to rain while we were on the train and largely pleasant when not and we took a pair of excursions -- one arranged by the company -- when we had layovers in Inverness and Portree.

McKinlay-Kidd is a classy operation! All of our pre-trip needs were handled in a timely fashion, their Vamoos app was quite handy while in-country, and they were responsive to our post-holiday suggestions. We would recommend them to anyone who wanted an introduction to Scotland!

Touring the Outer Hebrides including St. Kilda
Started from Ullapool. A very interesting and educational holiday to the outlying North West British Isles. Despite the varying weather, we thoroughly enjoyed this first time tour. We specifically wanted to visit St. Kilda, and achieved our aim on the second available day, with the included and recommended boat operator, Sea Harris, who were thoroughly professional, and took good care to make this memorable.. we visited several ancient sites and pure white Sandy beaches. There is much to see for the adventurous. We finished in Oban. We extended their original tour "Escape to the Edge" to 7 days, to include the Southern islands (Uist and Barra); and then booked ourselves on from Oban to Colonsay and Crimean, including Loch Melfort, Arduane Gardens, and Kilmartin Valley. As a follow up, we read Peter May's novels, set on Lewis. In summary, excellent holiday and value for the cost.

The McKinlay Kidd drive yourself holidays are innovative and well prepared, with good hotel accommodation, ferry booking, and briefing notes. This was our second; the first, two years ago, was to Orkneys and Shetlands.. As an alternative to printed documents, they introduced us to the Vamoos app. This enables tourists to carry documents on a pad or smarts phone. We recommended some further development to improve the live, updated weather forecast section; and the map section, which MK will be looking into. They are very responsive to questions, and clearly take great care to make their holiday packages work well.

Very well organised, excellent suggestions re itinerary and places of interest.Great selection of maps and local guides.
2 excellent weeks exploring Ireland from Kinsale then out to the coast and (largely) following the Wild Atlantic Way round to Westprt.4 two night stops and 2 three night stops which gave a good balance between driving and having time to explore. Over 30 years since we were last there and it was good to return. We have never travelled with McKinlay Kidd before but I would have no hesitation in using them again.

Orkney and Shetland a holiday to remember
Mckinlay Kidd had understood our holiday requirements exceptionally well which meant that we had one of our best holidays ever. The accommodation was very good and the food was excellent in all the places we stayed as well as the recommendations of where to eat on both islands. The ideas of what to do on Orkney and Shetland matched up with the information we had already researched and gave us very interesting places to visit and the organised tour of Westray was very enjoyable. But the highlight of the holiday organised by Mckinlay Kidd was the boat tour from Lerwick - seeing the colony of gannets and guillemots as well as puffins, great skuas and other sea birds was just amazing.

Hamish and Robert both provided very good service and all the administration was very efficient. All hotels were expecting us and my gluten free requirements very well catered for. Car hire was very easy and all connecting flights worked very well.

Perfect. Went like clock work. Lovely locations and hotels. Great personal touch.
Experience of a lifetime, McKinney Kidd made it happen.

A truly wonderful visit to Scotland.
My friend and I were looking for a tour that would give us a taste of Scotland while also providing time to relax and unwind from a very stressful year. McKinlay Kidd designed the perfect tour for us. We visited Edinburgh, Pitlochry, Inverness, Oban, and a few other places in between. It was wonderful!

McKinlay Kidd listened to what we wanted and designed the tour to meet these needs. They provided all of the documentation we needed from detailed directions to what to do when in the different settings along with a little history on the different B&Bs we stayed in. The best part is that they listened to us when designing the tour.

Wild Atlantic Way
Great holiday touring part of the Wild Atlantic Way from Cork to Connemara. We were blessed with beautiful weather for most of the trip - had it been pouring with rain we might not have enjoyed the trip so much and not seen the breathtaking views. Great accommodation, friendly people and good food. Would certainly go again.

All the arrangements ran smoothly and all our questions and queries were answered quickly beforehand. Great places to stay and recommendations of where to eat, what to see etc. I enjoyed the fact that all the accommodation was arranged and booked to fit in with our dates and we didnt have to juggle everything around ourselves. Would certainly book with them again

Well planned itinerary around the beautiful Western isles
We wanted to travel the whole length of the Western Isles and this holiday allowed us to spend time on all the major islands. The accommodations were all small and unique, each having a charm of their own. Flying in and landing on the beach on Barra was a definite highlight. The roads are wonderfully quiet and the scenery is beautiful, never far from the sea. There is so much space for wandering both inland and beside the coast. The wildlife ...

The roads are wonderfully quiet and the scenery is beautiful, never far from the sea. There is so much space for wandering both inland and beside the coast. The wildlife sightings were great as well from otters to eagles. You need to be prepared for all sorts of weather and take the midge repellent but the peace and tranquility make it all worthwhile. All the people we met were friendly and helpful especially as I forgot to pack my husband any socks at all and trying to find some to buy was quite a challenge!

McKinnlay Kidd planned a great holiday exactly around the specifications we gave them. Each detail was well organised -car; accommodation; ferries and flights with lots of information to help us before and whilst we were travelling.

Ten day tour of Scotland by train. Six locations.
The transitions from Glasgow to Edinburgh via Skye and Inverness were absolutely faultless. Furthermore, each location was carefully picked not just for its view or the room, which were tip top, but for the friendliness and capability of the staff therein. There is simply nothing to dislike about this holiday, transport, food, hotel and local attractions have been honed precisely and I would have no hesitation in recommending this sort of ...

There is simply nothing to dislike about this holiday, transport, food, hotel and local attractions have been honed precisely and I would have no hesitation in recommending this sort of tour, which is tailored to the customers preferences. We will certainly be returning as this first ever experience of Scotland has been fantastic, due to the skilful organising of McKinlay Kidd and their team.

McKinlay soon weighed up the fact that we had only ten days to get an overall feel of the Highlands and we got exactly that. The locations ranged from small villages to major cities all with their individual advantages. I happened to mention a liking of steam engines and hence the trip encompassed the tremendous Jacobite run, a real bonus in itself. This typified the attention given to the customers individual interests.
