This was the first time we had visited these islands and we took lots of warm clothing expecting rain and the famous Shetland wind! However, we actually had only one rain shower and sunshine every day. The trip was a delight. Both hotels very welcoming and comfortable with very good food. All the arrangements made by McKinley Kidd went like clockwork and entirely to plan. The boat trip from Lerwick out to the islands was extra special and our captain and his mate very friendly and informative about the wildlife we encountered. These islands are a delight! We saw them at their very best due to the exceptional weather but the scenery really is spectacular.

McKinley Kidd gave a very personal service, always eager to answer any questions we had and could not have been more helpful. The arrangements such as flights, car hire and hotel locations were just perfect.

A great introduction to the wonderful Orkneys. Flew from Edinburgh to Kirkwall where we picked up the hire car. Short drive to the hotel which was friendly and comfortable. We spent three days exploring the mainland and made full use of the explorer pass to visit sites such as Scara Brae. We had lots of helpful information about what to do, where to eat etc provided before we started our holiday. Everything was organised by McKinley Kidd

We had an amazing time on both islands. So much to see and do . Sadly we only had a few days on each to explore but we did our research and got the most out of it. We used all the info from McKinley Kidd,, which was invaluable!! From car hire to hotels and flights we have no complaints about the organisation of the trip.

McKinley Kidd were the best at every level. So well organised and efficient. No problems at all.

Our holiday was well organised and McKinlay Kidd provided substantial information on places of interest to visit. The accomodation had been visited by their own people to ensure it was of a high standard. The flights and car hire proved to be trouble free also making it a relaxing and most enjoyable holiday experience.

As said previously we very happy with the communication and all the preparation that was done prior to our arrival.

Travelled to Arran, Gigha, Islay & Colonsay. All ferries booked, accommodation excellent. Bonus was the pack provided by McKinlay Kidd which included detailed instructions to locate hotels plus recommendation for sight seeing on each island.

As a single lady traveller this holiday was perfect. I chose to have an organised tour of Skye which was excellent and very good value. The scenery on the whole journey was wonderful.

Our two and a half week tour through the Highlands of Scotland was by train, with boat trips out to the Isle of Rhum, and to the Orkneys. All bookings were made by McKinlay Kidd and were impeccably organised. This included accommodation in remarkable and well chosen historic homes, or small hotels.

Faultless organisation. They presented us with copious notes about what to look out for at each stage of the trip.

McKinlay Kidd organized and tailored a short train holiday of six days from Edinburgh to Potree in Skye with stops in Pitlochry and Inverness, Arrangements were thoughtful and well planned, with tasteful characterful comfortable accommodations which provided value for money.

I worked with Caoimhe who was responsive and provided honest and thoughtful answers to my questions. The materials provided during the tour were helpful, succinct and clear. She was easy to work with, and I felt I could trust her to make recommendations appropriate to what I wanted. I came away from this holiday feeling that this is a tour operator with integrity. I would use McKinlay Kidd again.

Visited Isle of Mull in Scotland. Three days of organised tours by local people and stayed in gorgeous independent boutique hotel.

Arranged our holiday and added extra nights stay and all travel and necessary connections as we did not use our own transport. Also have up local maps and walking ideas.
