Just fantastic. Coming from Australia they made it so easy. Everything was planned to the last detail and was so good. Exceeded our expectations. So good I'd give them an 11 out of 10.

Orkney & Shetland Self-drive by Bj, 17 Sep 2017

Neolithic history and stunning island scenery !

Three nights each on Orkney and Shetland. Not nearly enough timeto discover all these islands had to offer. Well located in very hospitable and comfortable accommodation we drove out each day to explore the many historic sites on Orkney and beautiful coastline of Shetland. Driving on both islands was easy with the polite locals and good roads. Recommendations from the tour company were very helpful. We sampled plenty of local food and drinks ...

Excellent

We travelled from New Zealand to a self-drive holiday tailor made by McKinlay Kidd. We were lucky to have such attentive people sort the tour out and suggest extra ideas in line with our requests. Even thinking back on this holidsy brings smiles to your face. It certainly ticked all the boxes!

AMAZING HEBRIDES

The whole holiday was amazing. From the quality of the B/B's to the directions to the next B/B were spot on.

Rating for tour operator:

They were so helpful and freindly nothing was to much trouble. As mentioned the directions were precise I found every thing easy and no hassle. The food was excelent and each B/B did packed lunches so did not need to find food for the walks. IT WAS BRILIANT. So much so I will be going again A.S.A.P.

Scottish Whiskey Tour - Excellent!!

A bucket list item fulfilled to a degree of excellence we truly didn't expect. Every day was planned to ensure that we enjoyed not only the magnificent scenery on our travels, but also the time to explore castles, villages and local culture. Our journey started in Edinburgh going north taking in St. Andrews and on to Speyside. Then winding our way through the highlands across to the Isle of Skye, onward to Port Appin we soaked up the peace and tranquility of the countryside. Campbeltown and Islay were our final destinations before heading to Glasgow to fly home. The distillery tours were all booked in advance as were the accommodations which were all high end. We definitely recommend the Gold Tour of the Scotch Whiskey Experience in Edinburgh at the beginning of the vacation. It gave us an overview of the whiskey industry and its processes and whetted our appetite for what was to come! We visited six distilleries in total, Macallan, Aberlour, Talisker, Oban, Springbank and Laphroaig which were personal choices. Each one was very special in its' own way. We loved Scotland, its' beauty, its' culture and its' people. We'll be back!!

McKinlay Kidd took care of every detail with precision down to the timing and booking of ferries to and from the Islands. Their attention to detail enabled us to relax and enjoy every minute of our vacation. Well done McKinlay Kid, we couldn't have organized it better ourselves!

Northumberland – Dark Skies by PhilipC, 14 Sep 2017

Great time in Northumberland

We went on the "Northumberland Dark Skies and Nature" holiday which we really enjoyed. The hotels were very good; small and friendly. We had three nights inland and then five nights (two of which were extra to the standard tour) nearer the Northumberland coast.

Rating for tour operator:

This was the second time we've booked a holiday through McKinlay Kidd and would recommend them. The hotels are good and some trips/events are included, but with plenty of free time to explore the area on our own.

Shetland fly and drive

We want to thank the whole Staff because we had a beautiful holiday. Everything was perfect. We found the documents and booklets at our Hotel in Glasgow so we could have a look in advance. The suggestions made by McKinlay Kidd responded to our expectations and interests. The Hotels they selected couldn't be more comfortable. We had a warm welcome, superb food. They were different but both the perfect choice. We hope to come back and have another ...

Outer Hebrides Fly-drive by Aussie grandma, 6 Sep 2017
Holiday Rating:

A most beautiful part of the world

I spent a week doing a fly-drive of the Outer Hebrides with my sister, and we loved every minute of it. The scenery was so beautiful, rolling hills and mountains covered in heather, extensive white sandy beaches, and rolling turquoise seas, we could have happily stayed for weeks! The people were, without exception, so friendly and helpful, it was a pleasure to be a part of their communities.

They were very easy to deal with, always prompt in their replies to any querries I might have. I only regret that the tour wasn't twice as long!!

Amazing Orkney holiday

We, a family of four, have just been on an amazing short holiday in Orkney. During the few days we were there we were able to visit loads of great places in this unique and fascinating area.
