Grand Tour of Scotland by Train by Kilkee slowly going up Scotland west coast, 2 Jul 2024

McKinlay Kidd created one awesome holiday going by train and tour persons. The landscape was so pretty it was like a post card. If you are looking for a travel team to work with you, they will ask for your wishes of places to see and then will put together a holiday that will please everyone in the group. If you find something will not work just let the team know they will come up with a different option.

Linzi Gatman was great to work with on the holiday that was put together. We made some changes and from there put a down payment and several months later paid the balance. An app was sent via email where you could download the app to your phone and also load it onto your laptop or tablet. This provide up to date info on our trip.

Rating for tour operator:

McKinley Kidd chose excellent B&Bs . Train bookings were well organised and easy to use Although more expensive than planning oneself it was worth the smooth flow of the 14 day journey.

Scotland Train Tour a Perfect Holiday

McKinlay Kidd made possible for us to have a lovely tour around Scotland without having my husband to drive. Everything was on target, from the train schedules to the choice of hotels, B/B’s. Plus, our private guides were extremely knowledgeable and provided us with history of the areas. We love Scotland!

We took the short train ride fromGlasgow to Stirling were we started our whisky and castle tour by train, from Stirling to Inverness, and then to Aberdeen. Our whole holiday was perfect, from all or our wonderful accommodations to the ease of travelling on the trains and all the wonderful suggestions from McKinlay Kidd, it could not have been better. We had 3 private tours that were booked through MK, one to Stonehenge, one to 2 distilleries and a cooperage, and a wonderful all day tour of castle in Aberdeen, and all 3 of the people that looked after us for these days were INCREDIBLE!!!

Tour of England

We traveled from London to York, Haydon Bridge, Pooley Bridge, Chester, Bath, Penzance, and then back to London by train and auto. We had guided tours in several of the cities and stayed in lovely bed and breakfasts.
