McCabe Pilgrimages Traveller Reviews

Reviews of McCabe Pilgrimages

Great Experience
This was an excellent trip all-round. From the time we left the church to the time we arrived back, everything went like clockwork. The experience will never be forgotten. Even beats the Holy Land trip! The distances covered were made easy with a good quality coach, a great driver and a great guide. All the hotels were of good quality and the service in the restaurants was excellent.

A wonderful trip
It was a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. The hotels chosen by McCabe were all excellent, and the guide was wonderful, with a great sense of humour.

McCabe pilgrimages is a very good company. they put a great deal of effort into organising their pilgrimages.

Fascinating, informative and great fun.
We spent 4 days in Rome, visiting Basilicas, the Colosseum and the Vatican. We then travelled by coach to Assisi and visited the various Basilicas of St Francis and St Clare.

Absolutely wonderful
It was a Pilgimage to Greece in the footsteps of St. Paul. There were fifty of us from our church, Holy Trinity, in Claygate, Surrey. We are all Christians and this was the whole idea of the trip to walk in the footsteps of St. Paul when he first went to Greece, taking Christianity to the people living in Greece. We had perfect blue skies from day one and it was lovely and warm. This was a perfect spiritual blessing for all of us.

His knowledge of the places we visited and past en route was simply amazing and so easy to listen to. He was always there for us when we needed to move on to the next place of interest. A very nice gentleman. Our driver was superb and we had total confidence and faith in his driving. Even when we rounded hairpin bends!

A brilliant and informative tour of the Holy Land
We found the sites of Jesus' ministry very moving. The Dead Sea was fun and the whole experience was very positive having been well and thoroughly organized.

McCabe Pilgrimages looked after us very well indeed and provided us with an excellent guide and coach driver - as well as good hotels near the places we wished to visit.

Pilgrimage in the steps of Apostle Paul in Greece
This will remain one of my top holidays. The whole experience was extraordinary, travelling with a large group of friends, learning so much about Greece and understanding what inspired Paul to keep going in often challenging circumstances. The spiritual journey was the most important and memorable, including renewing baptismal vows at Lydia, and celebrating Holy Communion in ancient Corinth, under a tree.

Not a pilgrimage, but culturally still very interesting.
Visited Rome, Orvieto and Assisi and packed a lot in. Seeing the remains of classical Rome was a hope at long last fulfilled. Don't recommend the Domatilla catacomb (dark, dank and not very insightful). The Vatican galleries were a mad rush - we raced through in scarcely more than an hour. But we had half an hour in the Sistine Chapel. Good hotel, and transport to and from it well organised. Orvieto was well worth stopping for. Assisi thronging ...

Assisi thronging with tourists (like ourselves of course) and entirely centred on the iconography of St Francis. Wondered what he would have made of it all. Food at the hotel there (which was modern and swish) disappointing - clearly taking advantage of us as a group.

Tour organisation very efficient. Tour guide exemplary. No control on the quality of the hotel food, which after all is not an insignificant element in a holiday, even one described as a 'pilgrimage' - and the holiday was not cheap.

Pilgrimage to the Holy Land
Eye opening experience at many different levels. Spiritually uplifting.
