Indian adventure
Visited India for fourth time having left the country in 1956, always a joy to be back and soak up the atmosphere. Calcutta vibrant. . Darjeeling wonderful after a thunder storm and Himalayas were clear. Tiger Hill a must, sunrise on Kinchenjunga. Kalimpong, busy , madness on the roads . Dr Grahans Homes highlight of visit.

A wonderful experience of the land, history and people of Ethiopia
Using internal flights as well as a minibus we visited Addis Ababa (Cathedral and museum for Lucy's bones), rock cut churches and wonderful scenery in Tigray, the stelae and Cathedral of Axum, the rock hewn churches of Lalibela, the castles of Gondar, the painted monastery churches near Lake Tana, an environmental project, a rural primary school and the Blue Nile Falls. We saw lots of birds, baboons and monkeys and we stayed in several amazing 'vernacular ' hotels as well as lunching in some spectacularly situated restaurants. Driving along the dirt roads and especially when meeting some of the people we had the chance to learn something of real life in these parts of Ethiopia. We had an outstanding Ethiopian guide.

Took a lot of trouble over the details and in assessing the security situation. Very reliable.

The wonderful Holyland Experience
A week of very mixed emotions. Our Guide brought the Bible to life, his knowledge and love of the countries. Walking in the footsteps taken by Jesus - awe, wonder. Communion on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. The original poverty, the splendour now. Amazement of the murals and paintings in the churches etc. the sadness of the Yad Vashem memorial to the Holocaust; the dividing walls: and lastly the prayers of the world for the hope of lasting ...

Manynewexperiences
Met Lucy - 3.5 million year old skeleton first day and visited two 3rd century churches the next. A primary school where there was no drinking water or electricity and 12 year old girls were worried about being married off by their fathers. Churches, monastries, religious art and Blue Nile source and falls. Arriving as a party atairport 40 mins before flight and still catching the plane.

Brillliant
Great to see places in the bible. The visit to River Jordon and seeing people baptised was an image I will never forget. Also the boat trip on Lake Galilee. Staying on it with the engine turned off was extremely special.

Non-stop overview of the Holy Land
Not for the faint hearted or weary, this holiday is literally non-stop from early morning to evening. It packs in all the sites you would expect to see on a pilgrimage, some meeting expectations and some not. There is not enough time to sit and ponder and take in where you actually are, but this is only to be expected with so much crammed in. Also visited the blind school and orphanage which was insightful and emotional. Additional trips to ...

Also visited the blind school and orphanage which was insightful and emotional. Additional trips to Masada, Qumran and the Dead Sea were stunning and not to be missed. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable and worthwhile pilgrimage, making the Bible come to life, seeing where Jesus actually walked, performed many miracles and resurrected. Amazing. Would love to return one day to fill out the experience.

I joined as an outsider onto the tour and I found everything to be well organized and planned. I did not have much dealings with the tour operator apart from an initial telephone call.

Rich, informative and truly moving
It was a pilgrimage rather than a holiday as such and packed so much into the time available that I will be unpacking my memories for many months to come. The whole experience was immeasurably enhanced by the quality of the guides who accompanied us.
