Pilgrimage to the Holy Land- Southwark Diocese

We were in Jerusalem for 4 days and Tiberius for 3 days. It was very moving to visit the Holy sites associated with the ministry of Jesus. The tour group was well organised into 2 coaches- each with an informative and friendly guide. Our schedule was comprehensive and we were able to maintain our time table. All the lunches were fresh and tasty and, again, well organised.

A fascinating tour enhanced by the biblical input.

Major biblical sites were visited and appropriate readings and hymns enhanced the experience. We learned a lot about the life of Jesus and about the cultural and political life of the Holy Land.

Excellent organisation and travel arrangements. We were late to book but encountered help and advice throughout the process.

Holy Land experience

A wonderful tour around the main sights of the Holy Land, very well organised and escorted, good insights into Palestinian problems and difficulties, good to support the economy of the West Bank by staying there a couple of nights. Gave a very good overall impression of the country, with space for personal reflection. Would thoroughly recommend McCabe.

The tour was enlightening and spiritually uplifting

The pace of the tour was quite strenuous, but manageable, even for the "oldies" like my friend and I, well into our 70's. Would recommend it to all who think it'd too much for them. Believe me, you can do it!

The itinerary was clear and laid out where we would be visiting each day. The tour guide was excellent and we could not ask for s better/safer driver.

A surprisingly amazing experience

Our holiday/pilgrimage to the Holy Land was for many in our party a surprisingly emotional experience. Our leader had prepared suitable readings for many of the sites and those, together with the Eucharists celebrated, made it much more than just a holiday. It was worth while getting up really early twice to visit the Holy Sepulchre church (on Sunday morning) and the Dome of the Rock before they were overcrowded.

a wonderful and interesting experience. I would like to do it all over again

I had no preconceived ideas but I was fascinated from the start. To go to places and walk in streets where Jesus must have walked is amazing in itself. I had to remind myself that there were great crowds in Jesus' day as well. I was particularly moved by the short Eucharist services we had in caves, chapels and open air as well as on a boat and I will remember them for ever. Holy Land Pilgrimage, led by Rev Doug McRoberts, organiseed by McCabe's

Wonderful experience overall. Professional organisation, excellent guide (Na'el Haj from Nazareth), itinerary a perfect mix of history, insight, and unexpected moments of delight - like dancing on a boat on Galilee, eating 1st century food in Nazareth Village, and two first-class hotels: St. Andrew's Scots Guesthouse in Jerusalem has superb cooking within a friendly "at home" style welcome - and the Scots Hotel in Tiberias is exactly what it ...

Five stars!

Rating for tour operator:

There are many pilgrimage tour companies - but McCabe's are, in our experience, simply the best. Highly professional organisation, superb itinerary options, and - through McCabe Educational Trust - a gave us a chance to meet and make a real difference to blind children in Bethlehem.

A Pilgrimage to the Holy Land

This was my first visit to the Holy Land. I think I did well in Choosing McCabe travel. The whole package was well organised and ran to time. The guide was excellent and was able to get us through the different sites in quick time, he had good knowledge of the history of the area. Both the hotels that we stayed at were of good standard with an excellent array of food which was of good quality.

I co-led a group of 20 pilgrims to the Holy Land. We stayed in Jerusalem and Tiberias, also visiting Bethlehem, Nazareth, Jericho, Masada, the Dead Sea and many other sites. It was a wonderful pilgrimage, rooting our faith, but also opening our eyes to the political and cultural life of that place.
