Very well organized company

We hiked along the Amalfi Coast using On Foot Holidays as our tour company. We had looked at a number of other companies before choosing On Foot. Ultimately we chose them because we liked their route better (it involved some longer and more challenging hikes - which we preferred), and because the route was designed by the person who wrote the hiking guide book to the area. Ultimately we chose them because we liked their route better (it involved some longer and more challenging hikes - which we preferred), and because the route was designed by the person who wrote the hiking guide book to the area. We loved the trip. It was breathtakingly scenic. We also liked having a choice of hotels in each of the towns. All of our hotels were wonderful - extremely clean and comfortable. In addition, we thought that On Foot Holiday's descriptions of the hikes and the topography of the area was very precise and accurate. We would definitely book with On Foot Holidays again.

Our tour operator was extremely helpful in answering all of our questions. We spoke by telephone to her a few times before finalizing our plans, mainly with regard to hotel choices on the trip. We also appreciated how responsive she was to our email inquiries.

Walking the Amalfi Coast

Our first "walking" holiday anywhere in all our world wide travels. The choice of the Amalfi coast was perfect. Historic villages..breathtaking scenery..great seafood..friendly people..and practically nobody on the paths. And no rain to muddy up the trails.

Awesome. They responded the same day to questions. Once even calling from London to Seattle at their expense to answer questions. The staff had actually hiked the route and knew what we were to expect. The printed daily directions were very detailed and accurate. We were sent a survey to give feedback. Then I received a thank you on that feedback..with the commitment to change some of the wording for their 2014 directions. My suggestions were going to be incorporated. We could upgrade hotels with no problem. There were even restaurant suggestions. They have an in -country contact for emergencies. All airport pick ups, luggage transfers, hotel reservations , train transfers, etc. had no problems. Not one. My wife and I have used many travel companies. On the whole we have been satisfied. Our vote of confidence is by using the agency a second time. We are already considering another "walking" tour with On Foot Holidays, time and our health permitting.

Enjoyable, safe and fun

We did the walk on the Amalfi Coast. We enjoyed the hotels selected and were thankful for the suggestions made for being prepared for the walks. We were a bit disappointed that rain prevented us from doing part of the walks. The walks we did were great and felt the directions and maps were detailed and complete. Overall we were impressed with the organization and thoroughness of On Foot. Staff was very responsive to questions and helpful...

We met other groups on this trip that had booked with other programs and they were impressed with out detailed maps and walking directions. Not only would we recommend On Foot but we are looking at other walks we could do with On Foot

A beautiful escape to Italy catch the late Mediterranean summer sun.

A week's self-guided walking, along the Amalfi coast. Our luggage was transported, our accommodation booked, and walking notes and maps were provided.

Rating for tour operator:

This company specialises in self-guided walking breaks in Europe. Initial ideas and holiday information is available on their web-site, or via a brochure, and they are very friendly and helpful when you ring to discuss a possible booking. They have a flexible approach, and will work with you to tailor an itinerary to suit you, based on one of the standard itineraries. For example, they can optionally book flights and taxi transfers, and in most cases you can choose to start on any day of the week, and to add extra days at the beginning or end, or indeed in the middle of your trip if you wish. Where your walk takes you to places large enough to offer a number of accommodation options, you can choose one to suit.

Walking the coastal path from Amalfi to Sorrento

we did a self guided walking tour of the Amalfi Coast. The organisation was top rate and we enjoyed the holiday very much. We particularly enjoyed having an agenda each day but being able to achieve it at our own pace. My husband and I do a lot of walking and we were concerned that the walks may be a little easy. This was not the case and they were challenging without being physically overwhelming. We chose to take the long route to all our destinations. We found the scenery to be breathtaking and feel we know the area in a special way now.

Rating for tour operator:

We were met at the airport on time by a polite and helpful driver. Our luggage transfers were good and the hotels were mostly of an excellent standard. THe tour operators had provided us with accurate information and advised us on what to bring with us each day. The guides were easy to read and accurate and we appreciated the restaurant reviews given by other travellers. we are now looking forward to our next walking holiday, maybe the Lycian Way or Corsica.

Unforgettably wonderful

Two couples--old friends--hiked the Amalfi Coast of Italy for six days, spending nights in Amalfi, Praiano, Positano, and Sorrento. It was challenging but we all made it without incident and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves--not to mention being proud of our accomplishment. The folks at On Foot Holidays couldn't have been nicer, more patient with questions, or more helpful. They arranged for all our lodging (including our extra nights in Rome), had our luggage transported, and gave us a wealth of information, including detailed directions to keep us on the right path. They responded immediately to emails, called us to talk over details, and passed our requests along to the hotel staff. Every phase of the trip went unbelievably smoothly. We couldn't have been more pleased and are already talking about where we want to go next with On Foot.

The staff at On foot holidays was were excellent in working with me via email to plan and customize our trip. They were quite helpful in their suggestions and recommendations. The packet of information sent well in advance was thorough and the narrative and maps were excellent. It was just the two of us, and we were well prepared.
