My husband loves trains & I love birds so this combination was perfect for us. The Danube Delta did not disappoint, floating under willows, between reed beds & water lilies was such a peaceful experience. We saw over 50 different bird species including hundreds of swans, pelicans, more kingfishers than I've ever seen - a truly magical place. I loved Lepsa too with it's special hotel, Casa Tisaru. The train ride from Brasov to Bucharest through the mountains was an enjoyable train trip, with wonderful scenery.

We've used Ffestiniog Travel before & have already booked to go with them again in February. They have become one of our 'go to' travel companies. One thing that sets them apart from other travel companies is to allow us to have independent meals (where possible), rather than having to dine as a group every day.

A mixture of wildlife & rail travel in Romania. Small & charming hotels. Good included food. Safe travel between locations.

Romania was an interesting country to visit. Varied scenery. Danube Delta a very special and protected area for wildlife, especially birds. Romania is unspoilt by mass tourism and offers a glimpse of a more pastoral way of life that is difficult to find in Europe.

Very informative and efficient arrangements. Excellent tour leader and the operator works with some highly experienced, welcoming and friendly local guides in Romania.

Rail travel visit to southern Sweden

This the fourth time I have used Ffestiniog Travel and will use them again for a bespoke trip

Rail travel from Bergen to Oslo and then to Narvik, then down on the Inlandsbanan and then onto Stockholm. Marvellous rail travel but, as there are so few trains, it necessitated early starts. Superb scenery but little wildlife.

Ffestiniog operate as a charity and operate a railway, so are worth supporting.

Wonderful Norway with it’s beautiful fjords and scenery cannot be bettered.
