Well organised, custimised to our requirements

Dextinations Stockholm, Kiruna, Narvik. Hotels selected were excellent; Diplomat in Stockholm ideally positioned - walk to all places of interest. Hotel was very good, staff friendly and helpful. Kiruna Camp Ripan was ideal center for area. Tours we took were very good. Narvik was better than expected and Rica Hotel could not be faulted. Rating for tour operator:

Discover the World modified a standard tour to suit our requirements, nothing was too much trouble. Kept us well informed during the planing stages. We found information relevant to us about Narvik was lacking. Note Tourist books and the internet sites we checked are also lacking.

Discover the World responded to this review on 03 Apr 2014:

We are delighted to hear that you had such an enjoyable trip and very much appreciate your positive comments. Sorry to hear you may have encountered any difficulty in respect of obtaining Kroner locally - there should not be any problems with obtaining currency from ATM's with a debit card, or indeed exchanging foreign currency for Kroner.

Discover the World responded to this review on 03 Apr 2014:

We certainly pride ourselves on the personal service provided by our staff, so your comments are warmly received and certainly in keeping with the many other positive comments we receive, so thank you. We will look into the information that is generally available on Narvik, but pleased that your visit here was better than expected.
Thank you again for submitting your review and hope we may have the pleasure of being of service to you in the future.

we went on a family holiday to iceland, that was organised for us by Alex.

We had an amazing time. We saw the most fantastic northern lights from a boat in Reykjavik harbour. The Hotels were great and the car hire worked very well. We also visited the golden circle, waterfalls and went glacier walking. We finished off with a visit to the blue lagoon on our way to the airport.

I was delighted that the operator was willing to organise the holiday for us with the budget and requirements we had. The operator used their expertise to make cost effective suggestions which enhanced our holiday

Norway Fjord Odyssey

Cruising from Bergen to Alesund and then driving back to Bergen stopping at excellent hotels on the way. Gave us a chance to see many different Fjiords, villages and enormously diverse landscapes, being able to stop when and where we wanted on the way.

well organised and assisted us while we were there when we had to make changes due to local conditions. Would have preferred to get all the details more than 10 days in advance though to give us time to plan properly.

Discover the World responded to this review on 28 Aug 2013:

Dear Mr Dray,
Thank you for taking the time and trouble to complete your feedback in regards to your recent Norway holiday with us, from which I am pleased to note that you appear to have had a most enjoyable holiday.

I take note of your comment regarding the delay in you receiving your final documentation, and may I firstly apologise for this.
During the peak Summer months our aim is to send all final holiday information between 10-14 days before departure, as a minimum.
Unfortunately, and it is not my intention to make excuses, but for our Norway self-drive bookings, our customers receive a bespoke itinerary and driving instructions which can take some time to put together and unfortunately this was the reason for the delay. Please be assured however, your documents were sent to you as soon as we were in a position to do so but I am sorry that this did not give you enough time to plan your itinerary.

In conclusion, I do hope I have been able to clarify matters for you and that you may consider travelling to one of our other destinations at some point in the future.

Kindest regards,
Dawn Evans
Business Operations Manager

Excellent in all respects

I took my two younger cousins (in their fifties and I am in my seventies) to Iceland for six nights. The entire itinerary was put together by Discover the World. We had a night alone in Reykjavik and then did the 5 night South Jigsaw Tour. Everything was wonderfully organised by Discover the World. We had a brilliant guide and saw a tremendous amount. It was a marvellous experience and holiday.

We visited Discover the World in Banstead to talk about our holiday, having first studied their brochure. Discover the World did exactly what we asked them to do and I cannot praise them enough.
