Andalucia Revealed by Louisa, 3 Nov 2014
Holiday Rating:

An excellent tour of discovery of Romans. Christians and Moors in Andalucia Spain.

We were based in three cities - Cordoba, Seville and Granada - and visited many interesting Roman sites as well as wonderful cathedrals and Moorish palaces and Mosques. We stayed in comfortable 4 star hotels in the old quarters of the cities, and had wonderful food at a variety of restaurants. An exciting tour.

I have travelled several times with Ciceroni Travel and have always found them informative, interesting and great fun with nice people and great food and wine. The groups are never too large and so enable everyone to get to know each other. The tours cover a wide range of countries and many different subjects, all with a very knowlegeable guide and leader.

Istanbul, educational, fascinating and good fun.

Five days packed with informative talks about the sites visited gave us a splendid introduction to the history of Byzantium, Constantinople, Istanbul. Hotel Sultanhan very well placed for access to the old city, quite comfortable, friendly staff. Coach transport very comfortable and good drivers.

Byzantium-Constantinople-Istanbul

A comprehensive tour of this historic city, led by experts both British and Turkish and efficiently managed by the Ciceroni representative. Well chosen accommodation and excellent meals in local restaurants. One excursion to Edirne long and tiring because of the distance and, perhaps, one mosque too many. Very good on general background and clarifying the many historical and artistic threads. On the expensive side but good value.

Rating for tour operator:

Ciceroni specializes in art history in its widest sense and its tours are led by experts. Presentation is comprehensive but not overwhelming. Hotels and included meals are of a high standard and, of course, not cheap but good value. If you want comfort, convenience and style there is a price to pay

Well worth the money

Well planned and most interesting visits. Superb hotel, and most informative lectures. A variety of properties and places to visit, which gave a total view of the area of Ireland round Kilkenny.
