A week in Sussex & Kent visiting amazing gardens & going to two performances at Glyndebourne. A perfect week lead by our very accomplished tour guide Tom Duncan. He always chooses very good hotels to stay in & the Alexander House Hotel was no exception.

The firm of Ciceroni is the best there is as far as I am concerned. Tom Duncan who leads most tours has an unrivalled knowledge of his subject & has an amazing catholic taste in that he can speak so well on so many subjects & has a great sense of humour! He is brilliant at coping with"difficult customers" who complain about everything. Luckily they are few & far between.

Although having been to Munich before, I have never actually visited all the wonderful Museums, Galleries, Churches and Palaces before and being shown around and explained in detail paintings etc by Tom Duncan. Since the group all consisted of people with similar interest it was one of the most wonderful tours . Thanks to Ciceroni's perfect planning and organisation we were able to enjoy visits to the Bayerische Staatsoper , where the highlight was a performance of 'Tosca' with a world class cast. Our Hotel was most comfortable and we enjoyed good food and the most delightful Restaurants.

Full of Enthusiasm, excellent knowledge in Art and History and able to pass this knowledge on to the listener. Kind and considerate and also with a great sense of humour. I would always chose this Tour Operator again for future tours. Excellent, enthusiastic, with the most astonishing detailed knowledge of art and history and being able to pass this on to the group participants in a way for them to understand and to never tire to listen. MUNICH. A most interesting tour of art galleries and palaces, guided by a very erudite , charming and informative leader followed by two evenings at the opera.

A week in the beautiful Marches region of Italy. Three nights in Urbino and three in Ascoli Piceno. Well chosen hotels and all practicalities very well organised. Travelling around each base to places of interest in the company of an exceptionally good lecturer on the art and history of the region. A small group and a very pleasant atmosphere created by those in charge, Tom Duncan and his assistant James Hill.

Ciceroni is run by art historian Tom Duncan. He accompanied us on our visit and told us about the history and art of each place as we visited. As someone who has avoided group holidays when possible, I found the experience very pleasant and most informative, seeing and learning more than I would have done as an independent traveller.

Tom Duncan is an excellent tour leader with a fund of knowledge which he imparts in an intelligible and often amusing way. James Hill ensured that everything ran smoothly and we could not have been in better hands. The area of Italy which we visited was delightfully off the main tourist routes and yet full of wonderful art and history. The two hotels we stayed in were very comfortable and added to the atmosphere of the tour and the small group of people were pleasant and friendly. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to this area of Urbino to Ascoli Piceno to any lover of Medieval and Renaissance art and history. As a 'lollipop' we were treated to a visit to the Villa d'Este on our way back to Rome airport which finished our tour with the beautiful water gardens.

This was my second tour with Tom Duncan and for knowledge of his subject I doubt if he could be surpassed. He and James Hill make a good pair and I should be happy to travel with them again.

Everything from the initial preparation to the execution of the trip left little to be desired. Each individual was made to feel important and cherished.
