Day 1: Heho to Kalaw

From Heho Airport, transfer by road to Kalaw, a former British hill station. Check in to your hotel before wandering at leisure among the eclectic mix of local and colonial architecture. Overnight in Kalaw.

Day 2: Kalaw to Kone Hla, Htee Tein

Experience Kalaw’s vibrant and colourful morning market before travelling by road to the start point of your Inle Lake adventure. An easy trek, past farmers tending their crops against the backdrop of the lush green Shan mountains, brings you to Kone Hla village, and lunch. Your leisurely afternoon trek will lead you through surrounding settlements to the village of Htee Tein, and the monastery where you will overnight. While dinner is prepared, absorb the peace and stillness as you take in the spectacular scenery. Overnight in the monastery, Htee Thein village.

Trekking Time 4.5 hours

Day 3: Htee Tein to Kyauk Su, Nguet, Than Daung, Inle Lake

Today’s trek, through rich farmland and lush green countryside introduces you to some of the local Shan tribes, the Pa-O, whose women are distinguished by their earrings and brightly coloured turbans, the Danu, the Taung Yoe, the Inthar. Passing through the villages of Kyauk Su, Nguet, Than Daung, you will catch tantalising glimpses of Inle Lake glittering in the distance. Reaching the jetty at the lakeside, transfer by boat to your hotel for a well-deserved rest before dinner. Overnight at Inle Lake.

Day 4: Inle Lake

Breakfast at your hotel. Your day at leisure before Inle Lake extension (optional, very much recommended), or airport transfer.
