Thank you so much for your review, Florian. We really appreciate you taking the time to do this. I am delighted that you enjoyed your walking adventures along the Offa's Dyke Path and Cleveland Way this Summer, and we hope to be able to organise another for you in the future! Scott Smyth

Wonderful walking adventure beside the River Spey
Our trip was excellent in nearly every regard. All five of our B&B hosts were welcoming and friendly, clearly appreciating our stays with them. Each B&B had its own distinctive charm. All of the breakfasts were first-rate. The dinner provided by Cragganmore House (separate from the Absolute Escapes package) was extraordinary. All of the breakfasts were first-rate. The dinner provided by Cragganmore House (separate from the Absolute Escapes package) was extraordinary. The only (small) fault was some miscommunication with Dunallen House in Grantown-on-Spey which had not reserved our second room. They acknowledged having been paid by A.E. and graciously escorted us to another B&B across the way. While both landlords were accomodating and friendly, the size and convenience of the substitute room were not of the level of the other B&B's of our walk. The walk itself was spectacular but more strenuous than we expected, especially the final day to Grantown-on-Spey. The time estimates in the A.E. itinerary would be only for extremely fit walkers--our final day was easily seven hours. But this is a small point given the beautiful and varied terrain we traversed. We encountered few other folks on the trail, and no through walkers--we essentially had this wonderful walk to ourselves. While a little rough in patches the trail is well-marked and accuractely mapped. Given Scotland's expected rains walkers should be prepared for muddy pathways. We are considering a further portion of the Speyside Walk at a future time.

Absolute Escapes was prompt in responding to our inquiries. They quickly tailored our walk to the four days we had available. All of their B&B choices were excellent--we enjoyed all of them. There was a miscommunication with the Dunallen House in Grantown-on-Spey which did not reserve our second room, but they graciously provided a substutute across the street. I am not sure this was the fault of E.A. as the landlord acknowleged having been paid for two rooms. The maps and detailed itinerary were completely adequate, although the time estimates for our four days should be considered only for the fittest walkers. We felt the tour fee was entirely resonable. Overall we were extremely pleased with our tour and would use Absolute Escapes in the future.
Thank you very much for your valuable feedback. I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful and varied scenery of the Speyside Way, and that you were pleased with all of the accommodation you stayed in along the trail. We do have a comprehensive accommodation database which we have built up over the last 11 years and we are confident that our clients will be very comfortable and well looked after in our selected properties, and it is very pleasing to see this echoed in your feedback.
I have emailed you separately regarding the miscommunication with the rooms at Dunallan Guest House in Grantown-on-Spey.
Thank you again for taking the time to leave a review, and please do get in touch if we could ever tempt you back across from California for another walking adventure!

A Trip of a Lifetime!
Absolute Escapes organized a self-guided walking tour of the West Highland Way for myself and my dog Beezus. The accommodations were wonderful and very convenient to the trail. They arranged taxi service when lodging was not available directly on the route. And the baggage service did a great job. The scenery was beyond my expectations. I will never forget the adventure I had on my holiday in the Scottish Highlands.

Absolute Escapes was wonderful to work with. I called them to tell them what I was looking for and within 1 day they had created the perfect itinerary! They were super responsive to all my pre-trip questions. During the trip, there was a payment glitch at my 1st hotel. I called the out of hours phone number and Absolute Escapes resolved the issue within 15 minutes.
Thank you very much for your review and for your kind words, Annie. We are thrilled that yourself and Beezus enjoyed your walk along the West Highland Way so much! Scott Smyth

Walking the Cateran Trail
We had a wonderful vacation In Scotland and particular the area of Perthshire and the Cateran Trail. We spent ten days in Scotland and had only one day with rain. That's amazing. All the accommodations was fine, especially the B&B's and we had good food and the hosts were great. The walk on the Cateran Trail went well and we had only some rain on the first day. There were rain some nights to, but that's no bother. All the arrangements ...

All the arrangements they made was fine. The only complain we have is that the first request we made on there website not was responded, so we had to phone them to get contact.
Many thanks for your feedback - we are happy that you enjoyed your walk along the Cateran Trail. Highland Perthshire is one of our favourite areas of Scotland and I'm glad that the Scottish weather was kind to you!
I have looked into your comment that your original enquiry was not responded to and have found that we did receive an enquiry from you on 27th April which I responded to myself the following day (28th April). Perhaps this email went into your spam folder, and I can only apologise that this gave the impression that we were unresponsive with your original enquiry.

Fantastic Experience
Everything went as we expected, it was well organised and the distances we walked were manageable. We would recommend it to our friends as an excellent holiday and way to see and experience the area.

Amazing Holiday in Scotland - Self-drive Tour

We knew the general outline of where we wanted to go, and Absolute Escapes did a wonderful job of honoring our requested general outline while also adding some amazing must-see places. James, Andy and Scott all worked with us and they were very thorough and attentive. Every last detail was planned for us in terms of accommodations, the car rental, a ferry booking, etc. It would have taken us months of research to come up with the same travel plan. Everything was went very smoothly. All we had to do was show up! Our accommodations were all wonderful, and the added suggestions by James of places to go and stay were some of the best highlights of our trip! We could not be more happy with our trip!
Rating for tour operator:

We did not go on a tour with a group, but rather a self-drive trip across Scotland for two weeks. However, the planning by James, Andy and Scott was excellent, and they did a wonderful job of putting together our route, accommodations and destinations along the way. We had the luxury of pre-booked accommodations selected by Absolute Escapes, a travel plan with maps, suggested routes, etc. yet we also had the independence to go where we wanted and when we wanted spontaneously. It was perfect!
Thank you very much for your review, Diane, and for the wonderful pictures you've also sent us. We were delighted that you enjoyed your tour of Scotland and that you found our service of benefit to you. We really enjoyed working with you on your itinerary and were pleased that you were able to visit so many of the highlights of Scotland. Best wishes, Andy Gabe

To sum it up: a successful holiday in a completely different country and full of nice memories and loads of lovely pics.
