Too many highlights to list from our latest adventure through Wilderness Scotland, but here are a few. We love working with David Russell as our private guide. This was our second year in a row with him. We had a well planned itinerary both trips, and Wilderness Scotland and David were thoughtful about accommodating our requests both pre-, and during our trip. The food was excellent except for Sunday night at the Mull Hotel & Spa's restaurant (it was marginally edible and the wait staff gets really poor marks for service). Very much enjoyed the Oban Bay Hotel and the Pennygate Lodge on Mull. Both were 1st class accommodations and meals. We had beautiful views from our rooms at both locations. We always enjoy the boat excursions - this time to Lunga for an amazing experience sitting on the cliff with the puffins, and on to Staffa which is a wonder. This was a wonderful day spent on the water with beautiful scenery in every direction (not to mention seals and dolphins. The weather was exceptional (as it was last year). The history, the scenery, the walks, and the drives were all impressive and really enjoyed. We could spend each day at our own pace and cover a lot of ground with David. He was flexible and always planned a fantastic day. We love Scotland and very much appreciate your expertise in travel planning. We will be back when we can as this is one of the top destinations on our list. Many thanks!

Outstanding tour and guide.

This was an excellently run trip and even more impressive you Wilderness Scotland arranged for us to have quite wonderful weather - living in Texas the daily 60 degrees was a treat in itself. I can't say enough about our tour guide. She was so well organized always ensuring we had everything we needed. And her knowledge of the flora and fauna were stunning – when asked I don't think there was ever a species she didn't know about. She was ...

I can't say enough about our tour guide. She was so well organized always ensuring we had everything we needed. And her knowledge of the flora and fauna were stunning – when asked I don't think there was ever a species she didn't know about. She was a very impressive driver, never flagging while driving on those narrow roads that required your 100% attention. The three hotels were all excellent, I enjoyed the Polchar and Castlebay hotels the best because they were bigger so had more people (and very nice bars) than the Hamersay House but all three hotels had very comfortable rooms and excellent food. Our walks were all spectacular with great scenery, a perfect pace, and never overtaxing. I definitely want to take another Wilderness Scotland tour!

Sea Kayaking trip on the West Coast of Scotland

Wilderness Scotland organised sea kayaking trip entitled 'The Atlantic Coast'. Accommodation was in a B&B for two nights and the Glenuig Inn for the last 3 nights. Each day we traveled by mini bus to various sea loch's, depending upon weather/tides etc. The weather gods were kind to us so we experienced some superb sea kayaking trips.

Scottish Wilderness - 6-day Highlands Road bike adventure - Aberdeen to Applecross - Coast to coast

6 days cycling on the backroads and trails across the Scottish Highlands. 5 in the group. Great weather, beautiful and majestic scenery, great company and hospitality. If you are cyclist and looking for a great adventure - recommended (I have cycled in France, Spain, Belgium and it is equally comparable). An Unforgettable trip and absolutely recommended. Check out the S W site - worth it.

Walking - Glencoe & Highlands by Dog Lady, 24 Jul 2023

Absolutely Stunning!

The hiking experience was different every day. Terrain, of course weather, the views, trees, level of difficulty made it more fun, interesting and challenging. On top of that, each day had a different event, maybe exploring an ancient library, an ancient church, graveyard, restaurant, and even a boat ride! I found it pretty amazing that plus the hotels and restaurants we visited were to me at least 4 star!

Mungo Ross was an absolute delight. His hikes were chosen and lead very carefully, and he was always concerned about how we were all doing, suggesting different techniques with poles, how to navigate different terrain and timed the stops on the hikes so we could catch our breath and relax and enjoy the views! He was able to answer all of our questions and even had fun goofing around with us on some of his answers, very entertaining! He was full of energy and information!
