Grand Tour Cycling

This was indeed a grand tour. The routes were well planned, tour guides friendly, alert, capable and happy to be with us. I learned a lot about the country's cultural and natural history, viewed antiquities and grand sites. The routes were moderately challenging with some higher climbs and I did feel challenged just enough to feel accomplished. I liked that I didn't have to stress about keeping up with the group since we more or less traveled ...

A Wildlife Feast

This trip is billed as the Outer Hebrides and St Kilda. Unfortunately the weather prevented us reaching St Kilda but the trip was still hugely enjoyable. We visited the Shiant Islands and explored Harris, North and South Uist. We watched many birds, including golden and sea eagles and examined the flowering machair plants.

Best Holiday Ever!

I was privileged to walk the West Highland Way last week a Wilderness Scotland group. I've never traveled with a group by myself and this was fun, challenging, exciting and I made wonderful friends along the way.

Our guide Rhona was beyond amazing. She led our group with expertise, humor, patience, understanding and taught us many things along the way. I trusted her and appreciated all she had to share with us.

A Beautiful Walk

The guides made it! I learned so much about the land and the people while hiking some of the most beautiful Scottish countryside. The terrain was challenging at times, but the rewards were epic.

Fabulous hike on the West Highland Way

8 days walking and hiking was liberating for me. Walk with my friend and I can truly say we laughed the whole way. Had some tough days but we still managed to find the fun in it despite some pain.

Lovely, challenging climbs and amazing descents with beauty sprinkled in all around

Clean lodging with comfortable beds. Excellent meals with lots of food choices for picky eaters (like me). Guides that were obvious professionals and flexed what was offered with riders needs and desires. Beautiful scenery. Routes that included some climbs that left a feeling of accomplishment.

West Highland Way - Outstanding!

Our trip was exactly as described by Wilderness Scotland. It was my first time completing a hike of this type- and it was the experience of a lifetime. Views were amazing! People were all so nice! We had clean and comfortable accommodations and hearty fresh food. I'm looking forward to booking the Great Glen Way next year. I will train differently-- I am a distance walker but had minimal experience with the varied terrain of the WHW. Being ...
