Walking - The Knoydart Peninsula by Joy, 1 Sep 2015

Knoydart small group walking tour, my first experience joining a group like this on my own.

I travelled on my own to join this walking group & had a wonderful time. Great leadership & planning, challenging mountain & Island hiking on Knoydart & the small Isles. Breathtaking scenery, wonderful wildlife sightings, many from the boat on the way to island walks, excellent accommodation & fabulous meals all included. I would do it all again.

I was impressed with the efficient & warm communications via email from my very first contact with Wilderness Scotland. First impressions count for a lot! Very well organised small group tour. All-inclusive, accommodation, meals, planning & leadership of the walks etc was excellent. I would (& already have) happily recommend Wilderness Scotland to friends.

Sea Kayaking Introduction Course by Helen, 31 Aug 2015
Holiday Rating:

A well organised and enjoyable introduction to sea kayaking.

We spent five days based in a bunk house on Loch Torridon and kayaked for three days fairly near the bunk house, one day from Plockton and one day in Loch Marie. The scenery was unbelievably beautiful and the weather lovely apart from the final day. We had two helpful and efficient guides, who were very patient and approachable. It was a very well organised trip and one that I would happily recommend.

MTB - The Hebridean Trail by Annie, 28 Aug 2015

A bike tour with a difference

Wilderness Scotland gave us an adventurous 6 days bike tour through varied terrain in the Outer Hebrides, some of it quite challenging. All levels of ability of the small group were taken into account with the different terrains. The guides provided gourmet lunches choosing beautiful locations off the beaten track. The accommodation was first class, the perfect end to a days ride.

Rating for tour operator:

Wilderness Scotland runs adventure style tours in a variety of disciplines. We found them to be very quick to respond to any questions and queries, providing detailed information and equipment lists for our cycle tour. The bikes which we hired from them were sized to fit the individual and of a very good standard. The guides were very professional and well qualified, considering each individual's level of cycling skill.

A wonderful along and above the Great Glen

The Great Glen Way was a stunning walk . Especially the high routes day 4 & 5 . The route was very quiet and peaceful , on the way there are interesting places to stay and quirky cafes to visit .. Loved it and the organisation was perfect . Nothing to think about Wilderness Scotland had it all sorted !

Excellent is the only word . Everything went smoothly like a machine with well oiled cogs. Without hesitation I would recommend them . They went out of their way to sort things out for us not long before the trip. This was at a time when other tour operators said they couldn't help us as all the accomodations were full ! Wilderness Scotland went the extra mile ! Thanks to you all

We travelled by boat to and from walks on Rum, the south of Skye amongst the Cuillins, and Eigg, and to the far end of Loch Nevis to be landed there, being picked up later from Inverie. On the boat we saw porpoises, a minkie whale, and were accompanied for part of the voyage to Eigg by around 100 dolphins (so many is unusual we were told, it was a remarkable experience). The food at the restaurant at Doune was consistently delicious. On our walks we enjoyed some great views, and were looked after very well by an experienced and knowledgeable leader, whose choices of walks were excellent and challenging.

Rating for tour operator:

This was my first experience of Wilderness Scotland, we had a wonderful holiday, and I would recommend the holiday we did to anyone who likes remote places and does not mind walking on rough ground.
