very enjoyable holiday visiting Nashville, Memphis and New Orleans

We flew to Nashville spending four nights at the Hotel Indigo moving on to Memphis using the Greyhound bus staying three nights at the River Inn of Harbor Town before taking the Amtrak for a five night stay in New Orleans at the Old 77 Hotel & Chandlery.

Rating for tour operator:

The holiday was booked through our local tour operator Kyle Travel who as helpful as always. The only disappointment we had was the private transfer that was booked when we arrived at Nashville airport did not arrive. When I called I was told it had been arranged for the next morning and can only put this down communication error

A number of sights were included on the way, to name just a few , Mount Rushmore, Crazy horse memorial, Custer State Park,Chuckwagon supper, Little Big Horn battlefield, Bighorn mountains and Cody finally ending up in the two National Parks. Snow arrived at the end of the trip which enhanced the look of the scenery but made sightseeing fairly cool. Car hire went well, a Nissan Sintra, with nearly 3000 miles travelled without a problem. Whitewater rafting on the Snake river was the challenging highlight of the trip.

Rating for tour operator:

Julie did a great job in offering help on the suggested route, organised all accommodation and car hire and put in place bookings of all suggested diversions. A fantastic organizer of the whole trip which would have been extermely difficult to manage without her. This is the second vacation I have taken with Vacations to America and both have worked without a problem.

Amazing 19 day tour of New England in the fall

3 nights in Boston before picking up car and then Kennebunkport, Bar Harbor, Jackson, Stowe in Vermont then south down to Lenox in the Berkshires, onto Newport RI and ending in Falmouth Cape Cod. The whole holiday was a fabulous experience. The accommodation that had been booked was exceptional with many of the b &ab properties being part of a select accommodation group with many dating back to the 1800s. However, all provided modern facilities (wifi and AC!). We enjoyed unseasonably hot sunny weather and were too early for the laminate autumn colours but were able to explore comfortably. We have come back with memories that will last a lifetime.

From the personalised holiday booklet to the information provided it was faultless. Particularly appreciated the "no fuss" car rental arranged through Hertz. With the Gold option it meant no hidden charges that we have had bad experiences with on other operators.

Great holiday visiting new places and managed to avoid the hurricanes!

We visited New Orleans, Memphis (Graceland), Nashville (Grand Ole Opry), Dollywood, Smoky Mountains, Chattanooga, Atlanta and Hilton Head. Everyone was just so nice to us.

Wonderful RV holidays

We hired an RV for 3 weeks. Our trip started in San Francisco, via the National Parks (Yosemite, Sequoia Park, Death Valley), Las Vegas, Zion Park, Lake Powell, Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, the Grand Canyon and finished in Los Angeles. We enjoyed it very much! Although we stayed in hotels at the beginning and end of our trip, we would recommend hiring an RV: no packing and unpacking suitcases every night, easy to drive, great fun as a family! ...

Great help and advise from our tour operator, Carrick Travel in the UK. We enjoyed the activities that were booked and the hotels were really good! Especially The Garland in Los Angeles!

South Rd trip

We started in Memphis, spent two days at the Peabody Hotel and loved it. We then moved on by car to Nashville. We spent 2 nights at the Sheraton Downtown. Perfectly placed for lots of exciting places. Again the hotel was great. Next we moved on again to Sevierville. We stayed at Berry Springs Lodge. The accommodation was excellent and the view of the smokey mountains was amazing. After 2 days we move on to Camden where we spent 1 evening ...

Again the accommodation was faultless. The owner was lovely. We made our final move and spent 7 nights in a house at sea pines on Hilton Head. The house was excellent and very relaxing. The whole trip was great.

Vacations to America are excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They are always helpful and very knowledgable. I would not use any other tour operator for my holiday bookings.

Unforgettable Road Trip to Some of the Great National Parks of America's West

After spending time staying with friends in Colorado Springs we spent 14 days on a road road trip visiting a selection of the great National Parks in Colorado, Arizona and Utah including Sand Dunes, Mesa Verde, Monument Valley, Zion,Arches and Black Canyon. However the standout for us was Bryce Canyon. We particulary enjoyed our stays at Antlers on the Creek in Durango and Red Cliffs Lodge in Moab.

Overall we thought they were very good. Planning and booking with the capable assistance of Emma at Vacations to America was straight forward and car hire and accomodation arrangements all worked well. The recomended accomodation was exclent throughout. The one area where we felt a little disappointed in was that the "directions" given for each leg of our journey were vague in the extreme. This was in direct contrast to our experience with the same company two years ago where the "directions" had been specifically tailored to our itineary and therefore we felt much more helpful

Diversity of Experiences

Our holiday was a road trip around California culminating in a two night stay in Las Vegas Nevada. We visited San Francisco, Yosemite National Park, Monterey and the surrounding area, San Luis Obispo, Los Angeles (staying in Santa Monica) and San Diego before flying to Las Vegas. Our accomodation on route was as diverse and interesting as the sights along the way and added to the overall enjoyment and comfort of the holiday.

Both the staff at Vacations to America and our agents Julie and Neil Bullock for Spear Travels were excellent. They worked together to create an itinerary that catered for our individual interests. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble, even booking a last minute tour of San Francisco and Alcatraz which we recognise was a big ask!
