This was our first guided small group tour with JLA, having done five similar tours in the Far East, and JLA and, in particular, our tour guide rate at the very top. A wonderful holiday.

JLA organised a first rate trip round Mexico and included a huge variety of experiences. We had an "add on " on the Copper Canyon railway, which JLA subcontracted to Condor Verde, and this was well organised too. We have be been home for a couple of days and already recommended both operators to a number of friends.

My wife and I had an 18 day holiday in Cuba including a 10 day self drive tour of the west of the Island. Cuba is a country where it seems that the clocks stopped. It has a wealth of colonial style buildings and is a must for lovers of 1950s American cars (and you will learn to love them even if you don't now!). Every city has its own character and atmosphere with old Havana and Trinidad of particular note for fine buildings and lively music. To the west of Havana, Vinales and Las Terrazas are in lovely countryside with lots of birds and other wild life. After 10 days travelling, we had 3 nights of all-inclusive luxury at Varadero, a great place for a rest. If you speak Spanish, self drive is good but you are likely to need to ask people for directions. All accommodation and a range of local guides were arranged for us.

The itinerary put together by the tour operator was good and tweaked to fit our requirements.

A group tour of 6 countries in Central America - Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala. A fantastic taste of the 6 countries with inevitably lots of travelling from place to place. We had a rich variety of forms of transport - private bus, public bus, chicken bus, small water taxis, ferries, tuc tuc, horses and zip-wires! Walked in forests and saw amazing vegetation, birds and animals. We marvelled at volcanoes. We ate in many different style restaurants and sampled street food. Visited ruins, museums and saw lots of Spanish colonial architecture.

Thoroughly friendly, knowledgeable and professional at all points of contact from the initial contact with Alexandra at JLA, through the booking process to being looked after by a world class tour leader - Daniele Binaghi. JLA have an in-depth knowledge of South America and put together really interesting and good value tours.

Patagonia must be one of the most beautiful places in the world. This tour ensures you see the best.

I cannot fault JLA. I was travelling for the 4 months before the tour which means contacting me was difficult but this was dealt with patiently. The leader of the tour was excellent.

Chile is a wonderful country with a great variety of landscapes and wildlife from the Atacama Desert to Punta Arenas. It's very unspoiled and the food is fantastic!

A slight mis-hap on the booking of one of the hotels, otherwise JLA - Penguin's tour of Chile is fantastic.

Peru lived up to expectations. Bolivia exceeded them. Chile was OK.

Efficient, taking our exact needs into consideration. Helped us out from London when there was a problem.

Touring Nicaragua and Panama

Journey Latin America organised the ground arrangements for this trip including all accommodation, car hire and some excursions. Journey Latin America were excellent at sorting this out efficiently especially since we had left it to the last moment and Cuba is relatively full of tourists all trying to see the country before more major changes and the Americans start to arrive. the local support from Latin America Travel was excellent and we had some great tour guides. We stayed in excellent casas and OK hotels (the beach resort at the end looked a little sad). Driving was sometimes a bit too exciting (the roads are bad and horses and carts come at you all directions) but it meant we got right off the beaten track. Overriding memories of the music, dancing, old American cars and friendly people.

Journey Latin America were excellent at sorting out all our ground arrangements efficiently especially since we had left it to the last moment and Cuba is relatively full of tourists all trying to see the country before more major changes and the Americans start to arrive. The local support from Latin America Travel was excellent and we had some great tour guides. The cases were all excellent too.

This was a great mix of town and country, introducing us to the culture and people of two less known Central American countries.

This was an off-the-shelf private tour, but JLA were very helpful in tweaking it to meet our specific requests.

I spent three weeks travelling around Mexico, from the Chihuahua-El Pacifico Railway through the stunning Barrancas del Cobre and on to the jungle ruins of Palenque and Coba, amazing Chichen Itcha and Tulum on the Caribbean, via five days in Mexico City - enough time to visit the incredible Teotihuacan, Tenochtitlan and the must-see Museo de Antropologie and Diego Rivera Murals in the Palacio Nacional. It's such a shame that most Britons' view of Mexico is border issues with the US, El Chapo and drugs, and Cancun! None of them, frankly, are representative of the incredible country I visited and the wonderfully friendly and welcoming people I met.

This is my third trip with Journey Latin America and I can't recommend them highly enough. I had four weeks touring South America, taking in the Galapagos, Machu Picchu, Easter Island, Buenos Aires, Iguazzu Falls and Rio, and followed that with two weeks in Cuba, driving myself and doing home stays before a final few days in Havana (now the trade deal has been done with the US, get there before the Americans do with cultural invasion what they failed to do at the Bay of Pigs). And then this Mexico trip. JLA have been superb at arranging my itinerary, transfers and accommodation to fit in exactly with the things I wanted to do and see. Can't fault them at all, and like that they work with local businesses.
