fun, educational and relaxing

Although the archaeological focus of our trip encourages like-minded vacationers to sign up, our group of four couples turned out to be super compatible, enhancing the trip for each of us. The intimate gullet trip was wonderful. Weather cooperated; swimming off the gullet was good, if cool; and meals were delicious: fresh, local, and varied. The intimate gullet trip was wonderful. Weather cooperated; swimming off the gullet was good, if cool; and meals were delicious: fresh, local, and varied. Our guides were knowledgeable and lively, sharing the history of Croatia, both ancient and modern. Our guides' personal stories of the 1991-1995 war were tragic, but they shed light on this horrible war. I highly recommend this trip and hope to sign up for another trip in the future.

Peter Sommer Travels organized and led us on an excellent trip. Everything went smoothly. Their knowledge of the boats, the crew, the ports, the restaurants, and the land transports was top-notch. The guide who was with us throughout was especially expert.

Cruising the Dalmation Coast

We spent seven days aboard a gulet cruising from Split to Dubrovnik. We visited unspoilt islands and splendid archaeological sites led by an expert on board guide as we learnt about the history and culture of this beautiful region. The magnificent Palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian in Split, the charming walled city of Korcula and the bustling city of Dubrovnik were only some of the delights that awaited us. Cruising the Dalmatia coast

This was our first visit to Croatia and we will be back! The cruise with Peter Sommer, our third, was excellently managed and staffed with knowledgeable guides, all in all a great experience.

Amazing holiday combining knowledge and leisure

Fantastic trip on the Dalmatiancoast and archipelago, with the perfect combination of guided tours and free time spent on deck, sunbathing, swimming or lounging in the shade. Everyone could enjoy time the way suiting them. Also pleasant group of fellow travellers - an international mix that made great lunch and dinner conversations. Last but not least our fantasic guide Helena Tomas, that made archeology and history fascinating and clear. Her ...

Everyone could enjoy time the way suiting them. Also pleasant group of fellow travellers - an international mix that made great lunch and dinner conversations. Last but not least our fantasic guide Helena Tomas, that made archeology and history fascinating and clear. Her enthusiasm for her topic was captivating and made you want to learn even more. And apart from guiding she was a fun and inspiring person that created a wonderful atmoshere.

Wonderful Gulet trip cruising the Dalmatian coast

We had a superb trip with excellent guides and crew and a very comfortable gulet. The tours were very informative and well planned-the food and wines were very good-especially the seafood-the country is gorgeous. The only negative was that the week was too short.

We have been following Peter Sommer travels since the mid 1990s and this was our fist opportunity to take one of his tours. It was fabulous and certainly lived up to our expectations-we would definitely highly recommend his company

I wish this trip had been longer!

I have wanted to visit Croatia for many years, and finally got my wish. Cruising in a gulet along the coast is my idea of heaven. The group size was perfect: 10, and the crew was fantastic (both of them). We got to try out two gulets, because there were engine problems with the first one. Both crews were great in the way in which they handled the problem and the transition. There was enough food to feed 20 guests, the local guides were terrific ...

We got to try out two gulets, because there were engine problems with the first one. Both crews were great in the way in which they handled the problem and the transition. There was enough food to feed 20 guests, the local guides were terrific and the archeologist could have taught a course on the Greek and Roman civilizations, given more time. As for the Croatian people, they were incredibly welcoming and so pleased that we all appreciated the beauty of their country. I really felt that the only problem was not enough time. There was so much to see and learn that I wished we had more days in Dubrovnik in the beginning and Split at the end.

Peter Sommer Travels was the tour operator. Communication was timely and efficient despite the time difference between the U.K. and the U.S.A., thanks to Julie, the operations manager. Pick-ups and drop-offs were well coordinated. The itinerary was interesting and well planned. I would certainly recommend Peter Sommer Travels to my friends and family.

The historian and guides catered for all levels of previous knowledge and we learnt so much in an entertaining way. In addition the ...

Very experienced in historical tours and I'm sure this holiday's success depended on that experience. Plenty of useful information ahead of time and a straightforward booking process.

It was a marvelous holiday; gorgeous surroundings, good food, great wines and lots of fascinating history. Our ship's crew could not have been better. They were always looking out for our enjoyment and well being. We still marvel at the wonderful meals that came our of the small galley. Our tour guides were knowledgable, well organized and efficient. They were able to maximize our land tour experiences while also allowing for personal time and interests. We would travel with Peter Sommer Tours again.

Our tour operator was great from beginning to end. Prior to our trip, they provided us with all the necessary information needed and answered our questions. The tour operator was in contact with our group daily during the trip to make sure that all was well. After we arrived home, we were contacted by them to inquire about our experience.
