7 day gullet cruise, archeology focus, but mostly fun, sun, swimming, good friends focus. Perfect mix of learning, and relaxing. We traveled with 6 friends, other 4 travel companions delightful.

Cruising the coast of Dalmatia: from Split to Dubrovnik

We left Trogir on Saturday, June 2nd and over the next week sailed to Split, Brac, Vis, Korcula, Mljet and finally to Dubrovnik. In small but interesting cities we visited archeological sites and musuems with our Guide, Helena, who has her doctorate from Oxford and with a local guide in each town and city. Each day we sailed to a new and even more beautiful place, anchoring at night in a protected bay or cove so we could swim and have a quiet night...

Each day we sailed to a new and even more beautiful place, anchoring at night in a protected bay or cove so we could swim and have a quiet night. Meals on board and in restaurants were 5 Star. Crew was top flight. Arrangements perfect. We had a great group of guests from far and wide. Everything was done in the most professional manner so we could just enjoy ourselves. Which we did.

This is my second Peter Sommers gilet cruise. Even better than the first which was awesome and brought me back. Peter Sommers makes sure every detail in every port is done perfectly. He chooses very highly qualified and doctorate level professional guides who bring history to life.

Abosolute Balance of Croatia and Decadence

We traveled as a group of 6 great friends! We learned the history of Croatia and in fact the longitudinal history of the of our world, prehistorical times till present. We toured islands of Croatia. We ate like kings and queens. We swam in the warm caressing Adriatic Sea every day. We enjoyed time with our friends and spouses. We had fine Croatianwine! Need anything else need to be said.

Cruising the Coast of Dalmatia in style

This was a superb holiday cruising the coast of Dalmatia in a gulet with an expert guide showing us archaeological sites on the islands off the coast, and local guides taking us round Dubrovnik and Split. Perfect number of guests (8), comfortable accommodation, gourmet meals and opportunity for swimming off the boat, relaxation on board, and an opportunity to learn through our knowledgeable and engaging guides. The best way to see Croatia is by sea, and our Peter Sommer tour exceeded all expectations with its well thought out itinerary, attention to detail, balance of activity and leisure, relaxed atmosphere and good fun. Much credit is due to all ground staff, guides and gulet crew for a perfect holiday.

This was the first time I had travelled with Peter Sommer. The company specialises in expert - led cultural and gulet tours in Europe. Group numbers are small, accommodation comfortable and food excellent. The expert guide who accompanied us was outstanding - passionate, informative, engaging and entertaining. The itinerary was very well thought out, combining leisure time with activity and not-to-be-missed opportunities to swim in the Adriatic sea off the gulet. The client is obviously at the heart of the itinerary planning, and attention to detail is second to none. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting a fun, relaxed, educational holiday with fine food -they will deliver!

fun, educational and relaxing

Although the archaeological focus of our trip encourages like-minded vacationers to sign up, our group of four couples turned out to be super compatible, enhancing the trip for each of us. The intimate gullet trip was wonderful. Weather cooperated; swimming off the gullet was good, if cool; and meals were delicious: fresh, local, and varied. Our guides were knowledgeable and lively, sharing the history of Croatia, both ancient and modern...

The intimate gullet trip was wonderful. Weather cooperated; swimming off the gullet was good, if cool; and meals were delicious: fresh, local, and varied. Our guides were knowledgeable and lively, sharing the history of Croatia, both ancient and modern. Our guides' personal stories of the 1991-1995 war were tragic, but they shed light on this horrible war. I highly recommend this trip and hope to sign up for another trip in the future.

Peter Sommer Travels organized and led us on an excellent trip. Everything went smoothly. Their knowledge of the boats, the crew, the ports, the restaurants, and the land transports was top-notch. The guide who was with us throughout was especially expert.

We spent seven days aboard a gulet cruising from Split to Dubrovnik. The magnificent Palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian in Split, the charming walled city of Korcula and the bustling city of Dubrovnik were only some of the delights that awaited us. The magnificent Palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian in Split, the charming walled city of Korcula and the bustling city of Dubrovnik were only some of the delights that awaited us. Relaxing aboard the gulet, swimming off the boat and enjoying the local cuisine in carefully chosen restaurants completed a wonderful week.

Everyone could enjoy time the way suiting them. Also pleasant group of fellow travellers - an international mix that made great lunch and dinner conversations. Last but not least our fantasic guide Helena Tomas, that made archeology and history fascinating and clear. Her enthusiasm for her topic was captivating and made you want to learn even more. And apart from guiding she was a fun and inspiring person that created a wonderful atmoshere.
