A perfect combination of artistic highlights and good food and company.

This was one of the best short trips to Italy than I have ever had. Full of delightful surprises and discoveries.

Ciceroni, and in particular Tom Duncan, are the reason for going on this particular trip and on this occasion they were in particularly good form.

Beautiful lakeside setting springboard for wonderful architecture, art, food and wine

Staying in a very attractive small lakeside hotel with great charm, we ventured forth in our own small bus from Solenzo to study the art, architecture and history of Bergamot, Brescia while also enjoying a visit to the leading wine producer in the area, and some beautiful private gardens. This was all sustained with delicious food and wine. The Italian lakes are one of Italy's loveliest areas.

The reason there are so many repeat travellers with Ciceroni is because all the arrangements are always meticulously planned and executed. Nothing is too much trouble to ensure the comfort and well-being of their clients. The groups are of a size that enables people to engage with each other and to share their common interest in what they are doing or seeing. The support from Ciceroni's office is of an unfailingly high standard delivered with cheerful charm and care. Having examined tour operators offering similar high quality trips I find that Ciceroni offers extremely good value calculated per dime for such quality.

Once again a precious few days

Cicerone never fails to take care of every detail and makes certain that those who are travelling alone are included in everything. Very interesting and informative talks about every place we visited. All the Group meals were well planned and of a very high standard. One is invariably delighted.

A wonderful opportunity.

This was an art based 6 day visit to Rome with an opportunity to visit several places either not normally accessible to the general public or in private circumstances. There could not have been more included but there was never a sense of rushing. The tour was led with profound knowledge of art, history and local interest by Tom Duncan and James Hill both with a good sense of Humour.

CICERONI put together an interesting itinerary very efficiently arranged and run from beginning to end. Where transport was needed it was always on time and comfortable. They also deal with telephone inquiries quickly and efficiently. But the only quibbles (for me anyway) are that not all communications arrive and they should send out the very comprehensive reading lists at the time of signing up for a tour and not rather close to departure giving insufficient time to choose, acquire and read anything.

CICERONI Travel responded to this review on 21 Jun 2017:

Thank you for your feedback. Further to your comment regarding the reading lists, it is a valued observation and we apologise for the inconvenience caused. It is our normal policy to send reading lists.

Discovering the beauty, culture, food and wine of north western Spain - it's rugged coastline, fantastic wooded scenery, vineyards and wonderful country estates where camellias abound.. Visiting Santiago de Compostela was a dream fulfilled.

An excellent company which we have used many times. It takes small groups of interested people to special places with much emphasis particularly on the history and culture but also on the food and wine of the region.

This was our 9th trip in about 5 years with Ciceroni. A first class specialist company focusing on cultural travel. Of particular relevance to us in Barbados as we dislike beach holidays.

The tour leaders selected a range of visits reflecting the artistic and architectural splendours of Venice. Highlights were a trip by water taxi to the historic island of Torcello, with lunch at the renowned Locanda Cipriani. A private evening visit to the basilica of San Marco was quite stunning. For art lovers the unique collections of Ca d'Oro, Palazzo Querini-Stampalia, the Cini Foundation and the Accademia will long remain in our memory. Other highlights were the churches on San Giorgio Maggiore, Il Redentore and San Sebastiano. Altogether a memorable experience, another winner from Ciceroni!

Rating for tour operator:

The tour leaders are experienced, knowledgable and pay attention to the detail. It is like being on holiday with old friends. Their back office support works well and we have no complaints.

This is the second time we have travelled with Ciceroni and we will certainly travel with them again. They are very accompishwd at what they offer, nobody could be disappointed but an appetite for fine art and architecture is an absolute necessity.
