A truly fabulous holiday

We had an amazing time in Cantabria. The house we rented from Casas Cantrabricas was absolutely stunning. Cantabria is so pretty and is blessed with both amazing scenery and fantastic beaches, along with lots of history and art. There's plenty to do for sport too; walking, cycling and water sports. We really needed another two weeks (or more) to do everything we had on our list. We will definitely visit again.

Casas Cantrabricas were so helpful from pre-booking to the day of arrival. They are very knowledgeable about the area and provided lots of useful information to enable us to make the most of our stay. They even managed to arrange an early check-in for us. I felt that nothing was too much trouble for them.

Northern Spain - East to West

We toured, over14 days, from Bilbao to Santiago de Compostella. It was an interesting mix of coast, mountains and towns. The hotels we stayed in were very varied, including a medieval house, a grand villa, a monastery and an ultra modern hotel.

We booked the flights independently but everything else was arranged by Casa Cantabricas. Everything worked to plan and there were no problems. We were supplied with good information about all the areas we stayed in. The hotels had obviously been chosen carefully and the staff spoke English and were very helpful

Many thanks Paul, we're so glad that you had such a great time and enjoyed the mix of places we chose for you. We like to think that it's the individual characters of the hotels we use which make the difference to the trip and it's so rewarding when that element is appreciated!

Our itinerary was tailored to meet our specific requirements and Andalusia delivered in spades! Grenada, Cordoba, Seville and Rhonda have such a rich and varied history with wonderful buildings, a vibrant distinctive culture and excellent food and drink. We were surprised by the differing scenery which ranged from miles and miles of olive groves to spectacular and dramatic mountains. It is simply amazing how close to the crowded beaches and mass tourist offerings real and unspoilt Spain can be found.

Rating for tour operator:

From initial inquiry through building up our itinerary to documentation and information provision a faultless performance. The hotel recommendations were all excellent and varied from Parador to local 2 star. Locations were brilliant all within easy walking distance of the main attractions. Will we use them again; most certainly if we are returning to Spain.

Unusal and very special properties

Casa Cantabrias pick some highly unusal and querky properties but they are always fabulous in one way or the other and great value, just expect to have to have the odd unusual thing or two.

The take the work out of organisation and use their local knowledge to plan the whole trip with ferry tickets , hotel bookings and maps supplied. They have an excellent system where they load your itinerary on an IPAD and phone with GPS tags and point to point directions. Well worth the money if you are busy at work and want a stress free planned break which is not a package holiday in the usual sense. You are given the tools to be an independent traveller. Great concept. We had a car breakdown which they were a great support to get fixed and alter the holiday route. It added to the fun as we had to re route to a city with an Audi dealer for our ageing TT sports car.I have no hesitation in recommending Casas Cantabrica. Its a great concept. They do it well. They support you when things go pear shaped with the car and you don't speak Spanish!

Thanks James - we're so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the holiday so thoroughly - in spite of the hiccup with the car!

Consistently wonderful

We stayed in a beautiful house in the hills of Cantabria. My son and grandchildren all loved the holiday as much as me. Great things to do within easy driving distance. I had never realised how breathtakingly beautiful northern Spain is. Can't wait to go back

Excellent organised self catering holiday in Nothern Spain

The holiday included a ferry crossing from Plymouth to Santander, an over night stop in a country hotel and 8 nights in a self catering villa in a small fishing village in Galicia. All this was organised by the company who provided us with detail information on all the travel arrangements, the accommodation and route details.

Nice cottage in a fantastic village in a really excellent area of Northern Spain

Family holiday, bit of beach activity, bit of looking around, mostly eating in cottage, just relaxing. Had good weather and great beaches.

Very helpful with arrangements, everything as or better than we expected and the cottage by luck rather than our judgement in a very quiet rural village - excellent.
