The coast of Cantabria is beautiful - our first experience of Spain!

We travelled from SW France to Spain, exciting for us as we have never done it before. We were satified with the property, it was clean, neat and tidy and although our Spanish is minimal we understood (through her son) what was being said. The property was clean, adequate and had beautiful views. The saltmarsh was very interesting and we saw some wonderful foxes, one of which came right up to us - amazing! Unfortunately for us, the roadworks started on the Monday morning at 8am when a van, a lowloader with a bulldozer came and parked at the bottom of the driveway. They commenced digging out the drains and then scraped off the road surface along the whole of the road across the marsh. It was exceeding difficult to pass another car/vehicle as there was no verge, just a drop into the marsh. We loved Comillas and the surrounding area and of course it was no fault of the owner that we encountered roadworks! The house was in a very special place and we loved where it was.......we shall go again to Cantabria!

Casas Cantabicas were very pleasant to deal with the details were good and I liked the facility to download directions etc onto our tablet. There were many places to choose from and we wanted peace and quiet with beautiful surroundings - which we would most certainly have had without the workmen!!! We will keep the details for Casas Cantabricas in our filing cabinet for our next visit to Spain!

Thanks Margaret - we're glad to hear that you had a lovely time and enjoyed the area so much. Sorry to hear about the road-works, we hope they didn't ruin your overall experience too much.

a fantastic and memorable holiday

We had a 2 week holiday in Andalusia staying in 6 areas. Each area had something different and special to offer. We have never been to Spain before but have enjoyed it so much that we will return one day and most probably use Caminos by Casas Cantabricas again. They were excellent.

Relaxed Northern Spain

Always when booking a holiday with friends you are concerned everything is OK. We have been to Northern Spain before. Our friends were delighted - nobody spoke English and most of the architecture is medieval. The house was just right. I have Coeliac Disease and must avoid gluten. "Sin Gluten" and a Spanish card from Coeliac UK gave me a relaxed holiday.

All details sorted and two excellent Apps on my iPad - Vamoos and Northern Spain. Couldn't ask for more.

Thanks Malcolm, glad to hear that the holiday worked out so well and that your gluten intolerance didn't turn out to be a problem. We have our own cards prepared for most common food intolerances and they do seem to really work when travelling abroad.

Biking in the picos mountains

Six couples regularly go away on motorcycles, this year we travelled to Spain and stayed in a fantastic villa in Colunga. We had fabulous ride outs into the mountains and along the coast, enjoyed walking to the beach nearby and relaxing in the gorgeous grounds of the villa. Much fun was had dining alfresco enjoying the peaceful stunning scenery, making the most of the excellent facilities in the villa.

Casas Cantabricas was a great find, it was a complicated booking as we required different ferry crossings for our party, some were returning after a week, others were riding back through France and returning from a different ferry port. I found Casas Cantabricas to be friendly, professional and very efficient, nothing was too much trouble for Andy McCulloch. Casas Cantabricas prepared a personal travel app and e-document manager for me which included all the ferry vouchers, regional guides to the area, a general food and vocabulary guide, maps of the area amongst other documents, I found this to be really helpful, especially as there were five other couples who required the information, I was able to send them the link, the instructions on how to download Vamoos was easy to follow, being able to access the documents offline was very useful whilst abroad.
