Tranquil Picos

A week in a small converted barn in a very quiet and secluded place in the Picos Mountains in Spain.

Fantastic.

Myself and four friends, all motorcyclists, rented a house in Villasevil Northern Spain to use as a base to tour from. Visited the Picos and surrounding areas. The local villagers were very kind and friendly to us. The house owner was also very good to us even making a meal for us one evening. We were hampered somewhat by our ignorance of the language but managed to get by. All in all a fantastic week.

Rating for tour operator:

Booking was simple and straightforward. When we arrived at the house location no one seemed to know of the house but a phone call to the tour operator sorted out the problem, we were in fact within 100 yards of the house. All in all a very professional service

Just right

We are two older women, one of us new to Spain. We wanted to see the special sights without any hassle. Both of us dislike group travel. The itinerary was thoughtfully put together with this in mind.Only max of two hours in the car between cities, good small hotels centrally with parking,so no need to use the car on arrival.Add on two nights in the beautiful Andalusian countryside to finish off,and we both enjoyed an excellent holiday.

Excellent itinery

Fly/drive tour of northern Spain with three prearranged hotels in Laguardia, Santillana del Mar and Bilbao. Travel directions and suggested places to visit were included, with the assurance of in territory help if we needed it. We would not have found these places on our own. All went brilliantly, could not fault it.

Wonderful self drive visit to Northern Spain

Casas Cantabricas organised our self-drive holiday to Bilbao, Santillana del Mar and Laguardia in the Rjoca region. The three hotels we stayed in were all excellent and the car hire experience worked perfectly with no nasty surprises at the end. We thought about organising the trip ourselves but we'd never have found hotels like the three we stayed in and the supporting documentation was outstanding- including itineraries, a guide book, a map ...

Rating for tour operator:

Casas Cantabricas were excellent. Guru and Andy understood our needs well and adjusted the order of things to suit our flight times into and out of Bilbao from Edinburgh, even telling us where to re-fuel before we returned the hire car to the airport. All the arrangements worked well - from picking up the car at the airport to checking in and out at each hotel everything went very smoothly. We can't praise them highly enough and have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending them. We will certainly use them again.

The perfect 14 day tour

There is nothing, repeat nothing but excellence re this holiday. From our initial idea and phone conversation with CASAS Cantabricas to viewing the itinerary....to experiencing the tour, was a totally fantastic trip controlled by ourselves, which was important. The driving distances were just right......the Hotels are little gems.....the restaurants are exceptional (sea food to die for).....the wine (well what can one say).....the hospitality ...

Fun itinerary quickly conceived and smoothly executed

Casas Cantabrias is very accommodating. We called Andy McCullough after finding his company on the Web. He was in tune with our wants and got right down to planning, as we had given him less than a week's notice. I think we spoke on a Sunday. He booked us into places we enjoyed vary much and got us a good car. We were happy with the price. He responded quickly when we had a question. This company offers Good quality all around and Andy is...

Brilliant Tour with Great Hotels

Casas Cantabricas arranged a stunning tour of Green Spain. They made it easy for us to get full enjoyment out of this lovely area. The tour was well paced giving us ample time to relax and enjoy the sights. The Hotels were very good and extremely interesting, fully matching our desire for older properties full of character. We would definitely use this company again and recommend anyone to do likewise.

Spectacular and varied tour of the Spanish Pyrenees

Our two-week fly/drive tour took us through the beautiful Alpine-like Basque territory, the spectacular mountain landscapes and medieval villages of Navarra, and the wine-producing area of Rioja. The tour was well put-together and went without hiccup. The hotels - 6 of them located in villages rather than towns - were all good and most outstanding and all about 2 to 2 1/2 hours' drive from each other. Each hotel gave us info on what to visit ...

Rating for tour operator:

Casas Cantabricas adapted one of their suggested tours for us and it turned out to be the perfect balance of distance/driving time to variety. Andy was very helpful, responsive, very knowledgeable of the area and hotels and made the whole experience a pleasure. The Vamoos app provided by the operator was an excellent quick on-the-go reference to all the holiday details.
