Departing from Mandalay en route to the ancient capital of Bagan, the boat drifts along the majestic Irrawaddy River affording unforgettable views and providing chances to visit small villages untouched by the modern world. This cruise is a highlight of any Myanmar tour.

As part of a longer Myanmar package tour or as a quick add-on to a Yangon city break, the RV Paukan cruise from Mandalay to Bagan is one experience that should not be missed!

Best time to cruise Myanmar/Burma is the dry winter season from November to February.

Day 1: Mandalay departure

Your cruise begins in the cultural capital, Mandalay, at the city's jetty. As soon as you step foot upon the elegant RV Paukan boat, you will be greeted with a sense of serenity and relaxation. Sip a refreshing cocktail as the boat casts off into the mighty Irrawaddy River.

The first day of this Myanmar tour is spent cruising downstream on one of the greatest rivers on earth. The ever-changing scenery is filled with views of distant mountains, temple-dotted riverbanks, and small fishing boats passing by. A stop will be made at Yandabo where you will meet the friendly locals and watch them create traditional pottery using age-old methods handed down by generations.

As night falls, the boat will moor near the river banks in the tranquil night time air. Under the evening sky, the Irrawaddy is illuminated by the moon and stars for a mystical atmosphere unlike any other that you will experience on your Myanmar tour.

Day 2: Arrival Bagan

Awaken in the morning to witness the villages coming to life as the boat casts off for the cruise down to Bagan. Arriving in Bagan in the late morning, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel for the continuation of your Myanmar tour.
