Personal touch experience
We thoroughly enjoyed our perfectly planned and supported walk in the Yorkshire Dales with On Foot Holidays. Every detail was considered and this made our independent walking holiday go smoothly. We received a warm welcome every place we stayed, food recommendations and accommodations were excellent. We received a warm welcome every place we stayed, food recommendations and accommodations were excellent. This is our second time using this company and I’m sure there will be more holidays with them in the future!

On Foot Travel staff have been very helpful in making adjustments to meet our needs. Their personal recommendations are so helpful and I love the commitment to giving us a unique experience off the beaten path. Very well organized , reliable and trustworthy.

An immersive sampling of the Yorkshire Dales
The walk set a course across the southern Yorkshire Dales starting in the genteel Vale of York at Ripon and progressing to more remote and rugged upland terrain to one of the Three Peaks, Ingleborough. The course is unique to On Foot and takes full advantage of the unique cultural, historical, and landscape features along the way. After having made over a dozen self-guided walking trips with five different companies in the past six years, On Foot has become my first choice. They have a true commitment to maximizing the walkers' experience with many custom details in the route planning, very generous preliminary information about the culture of the area and the mechanics of the walk itself, and, most importantly, providing committed local support personel. On this particular walk the local representative personally walked and sent me a GPS track for an extra day, and joined me for a half day walking, which was the high point of my trip. The front office has been very consistent in heading off logistical problems due to bank holidays and train strikes and were really helpful in extracting me from a fairly remote area when trains were cancelled at the last minute.

Wonderful trip organised by On Foot Holidays
We walked across Yorkshire, on a very varied route, from Ripon to Austwick, with a magnificent final day climbing Ingleborough. The route was varied and the arrangements made by On Foot made everything very relaxing for us.

On Foot are friendly and responsive, and the three holidays we have had with them have been some of the best we have ever had. We will definitely travel with them again.

North Yorkshire Walking Adventure
This was a trip for 4 friends tired of lockdown but keen to maintain our fitness and friendship whilst walking in a different part of the country for a change.

On foot holidays provided the right advice, matched our walks to suit our needs and ability and then parcelled everything up to include transfers, overnight accommodation and a brilliant supportive paperwork as well as electronic package to help us on our way. Nothing was too much trouble for them and even when providers had to change our intended accommodation as a result of Covid and builders problems they were able to source suitable alternatives which turned out to be perfectly suitable.

Yorkshire dales
Walking holiday in the Yorkshire Dales. 5 days walking along a route from Ripon to Austwick, and then 1 day loop around Austwick. Lovely scenery and we were made very welcome at all the places we stayed.

They were excellent. When booking, they listened to our particular requirements, responded in a quick, friendly and positive way, thinking of good solutions for those joining us late or leaving early and they did all the extra work. The accommodation met our specific needs and we were provided with detailed walk instructions for every day as well as maps. We were well supported every day, with texts and calls to make sure we had all that we needed to make the most of our holiday. And they went the extra mile, for example, we were reunited with some clothing left behind before we had even missed it.

We have now used On Foot Holidays for four holidays, and are planning a fifth. Each time they have been very professional, highly organised and a pleasure to work with.

A five day walk in the Yorkshire Dales
We walked an unguided five day walk organised by On Foot Holidays. A steep and rugged climb up to a hilltop called Simon's Seat on the first day gave wonderful views of the landscape to follow. The walks then took us through a variety of landscapes; high moorland and low, lush vales often walking beside rivers and through fields of wild flowers and sheep. The highlight was climbing above Malham Tarn and then descending to Malham Cove on day four...

The highlight was climbing above Malham Tarn and then descending to Malham Cove on day four. Each night was spent in a carefully selected village on the route, staying in small but charming inns and hotels offering a variety of delicious food. We were blessed with glorious weather all week which added to the enjoyment of the walking and the views.

The team at On Foot Holidays went out of their way to assist with arranging transport at each end of the walk. Their walking guide notes and maps were clear and easy to understand, such that we never felt in danger of becoming lost. On Foot's local back-up team were also keen to assist with phoned advice and recommendations the evening before we set off. The team were always friendly, the luggage arrangements smooth and the pre-booked accommodation always welcoming. We have completed 3 previous unguided walks with this Operator and continue to enjoy every part of the experience, from the planning to the actual walking.
