5 days, hiking 66 miles along the north coast of England. Wonderful time spent exploring this overlooked gem of an area.

Very thorough operation, handling of the logistics was flawless. We had 2 minor issues come up that were handled by the staff quickly and efficiently (one even outside normal business hours). Well organized packet of information.

Northumberland Coastal Walk

Wonderful coastal walk, much to see on the way, lovely coastal villages and country pubs- and easily self-navigable.

Wonderful, relaxing time in beautiful England

We walked the Northumberland Coast path in 4 days and had a great time. Mickledore organized the trip in a fabulous way. Luxury accomodations. We felt very welcome everywhere. Beautiful dramatic countryside with wonderful nature and full of castles and history. We also made a boat trip to Farne Islands and saw seals and puffins. We really enjoyed the time and still feel deeply relaxed. We really loved it and will come back: word !!!!!

Wonderful walking along the Northumberland coastal path

We walked from Cresswell to Berwick along the Northumberland coastal path. It was lovely scenery and very relaxing and enjoyable. We stayed in a variety of B&Bs with our luggage transported on for us. All the accommodation was arranged for us by Mickledore and all were of superb quality.

Mickledore were superb and we would unhesitatingly recommend them and we will be using them again. They were very easy to deal with on the phone and we received a comprehensive itinerary together with OS maps and a guidebook for the walk. The holiday went by without a hitch - all accommodation was of very high standard and the luggage transfers worked brilliantly. We are already looking at what walking holiday to do next with them.

Perfect holiday: accommodation, luggage transport, maps provided

I did the coastal path walking holiday along the Northumberland coast. The B&Bs were fantastic, all hosts were very friendly and made me feel at home. Luggage transport was really convenient and well organised, too. The maps, trip notes and the guide book I had got from the operator were very helpful too. I never had any issues finding my way (even if I left the official path and took a different route).

A Walk Along The Cliff

We walked in four days from Alnmouth to Bamburgh, one of the finest sea side walks in England. Four days to go no great distance, but with many diversions and resting and loitering points on the way. The sun shone all the time, the sea glistened, the castles and the sands were perfect each in their own way, we both agreed the company was perfect, and everything went according to plan. Life was as good as it gets.

Northumbria Coastal Path

I walked 102 miles from Cresswell to Berwick uoon Tweed in 6 days in mid-September 2017. The beaches and coastal scenery were fabulous, almost deserted at times, and the weather although not warm was sunny, dry and windy for most of the time. The highlights were the walks were: to and around Holy Island, and walking the beaches near Dunstanburgh and Bamburgh castles.

Mickledore are well organised and responsive, and they supply good quality guides and maps of the trail before the holiday. The accommodation was all of a very high standard, in terms of the rooms, facilities, food provided and the hosts. I also had the impression I was allocated the superior room purely because I was a Mickledore customer, even though I was a solo traveler.

Holiday September 12th to 20th Our holiday with Mickledore walking the Northumberland coastal path was the first time we have been on a holiday like this. The organisation before we went was very detailed and the resources sent, book and maps, very comprehensive. We enjoyed the “unknown” of what our accommodation was like each night as we had deliberately not looked them up on-line beforehand. We enjoyed the reading of the next day’s walk each night giving ourselves a refresher over the very tasty and filling breakfasts we had at every stop. Of course we rated our accommodation, Fenham farm was outstanding and we loved the house at Warkworth but that does not mean the other places were unacceptable but someone has to win! We were surprised that at times the path seemed so unused and we were exploring un-walked territory. This was mainly where the official path went inland, across fields and woods so maybe this part was not so popular. The scenery along this route is stunning, the sandy beaches stretch for miles and we were lucky enough to see them with sunshine and blue skies and blue sea. We were proud of our walking achievements each day and we would definitely consider another walking holiday. Ruth and Tony Dillon
