Very enjoyable and well-organised walk

I did the Lady Anne Way in Yorkshire at the start of June 2018. The walk is generally a very nice one although a little uneven in terms of the length of the days and a bit overgrown in some parts near the end. But I went through spectacular scenery and having the historical links along the way added interest.

I was with Mickledore. I thought they were very good. The holiday arrangements were all managed very efficiently and they were very friendly. One of my hosts had had an accident the day I was supposed to stay and was in hospital but when I rang Mickledore for help the phone was answered promptly and the lady at the other hand managed all the new arrangements with great efficiency and friendliness which is exactly what is needed in that situation.

It is great that overall you enjoyed your walk. To make an itinerary work where some sections are quite remote it can lead to some days being longer than others. Thanks for the lovely comments about our team, we will always try our best to help if unexpected things happen during your holiday.

Great walking Lady Anne's Way

We walked from Skipton to Penrith over 9 days in the footsteps of Lady Anne Clifford. It was arranged through Mickledore and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We picked Mickledore's Lady Anne's Way because we had done 2 previous walks with them. There organisation and management of was excellent. The B&B's chosen by Mickledore were very good; the directions provided to them were exceptional. The paperwork provided at the beginning of the walk covered every, and I mean every, eventuality and need for the walk from coffee shops along the way to a range of eating places for the evening. Prior to the walk Mickledore's team were always friendly and helpful no matter how trivial the question may be.

Thank you for these kind words, we are very happy to answer all questions to help you with your holiday, so we are pleased you found us helpful. Its also great to receive feedback about the holiday pack information as we do put a lot of effort into keeping these up to date and useful. Lady Anne's Way is in a beautiful part of the country but we have many more routes that are similarly spectacular so please do take a look and book another very soon.

Lovely walk along Lady Anne's Way

A friend and I used Sheila Gordon's wonderful book to follow part of the route used by Lady Anne Clifford to travel between her castles in Yorkshire and Cumbria during the 17th century. The combination of magnificent countryside and fascinating history made this holiday very special. We took six days to walk from Hawes to Penrith and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

This is the fifth consecutive year that we have made a trip arranged by Mickledore. The information that we receive from them is very complete and helpful, the B&Bs they reserve for us are comfortable and welcoming, and the baggage transfer between B&Bs has always been flawless.

Terrific value.

Lady Anne's Way - 100 miles from Skipton to Penrith - walked in 6 days, with accommodation arranged before and after; 8 nights in total. Most interesting walk, lovely views when the weather allowed; super high-level sections with birds and quiet solitude. Some problems with nettles - a seasonal nuisance of course. And flood damage last winter made one stretch rather awkward to negotiate; this will be put right in due course.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed this lovely walk. Flood damage has been a challenge on many paths this year but I'm pleased to say that things are almost back to normal now with only a few small diversions remaining thanks to the hard work of those who maintain the routes. I do hope that you will be back soon to arrange your next adventure.
