The Dales Way walk is a must. Wonderful scenery from start to finish.

Mickledore organised all aspects of our walk, giving us the freedom to enjoy it fully without any stress.

First time we had used Mickledore (we had done the walk 25 years ago but arranged it all ourselves and carried all our stuff) We thought that ,since the pandemic, booking accommodation might be difficult but that Mickledore would have a keen interest in using its connections. They obviously had kept or made some good ones.

We walked the Dalesway over six days from Ilkley to Bowness. Great hosts and locations for all our overnight stops. Plenty of good food and filling packed lunches along the way. Woke up 2 mornings to horizontal rain but it added to the experience (especially over Blea Moor!) and had cleared by lunchtime.

Nothing was too much trouble for Mickledore from initial enquiry to organisation of our final itinerary. E-mails were promptly answered and any questions resolved. A great all-round experience.

This year we walked the Dales Way which started in Ilkley and ended in Bowness on Windermere. We walked an average of 12 miles a day although some days were longer as we ventured into some lovely villages or sites of special interest. We chose May as the ideal time to visit this part of the country because the woods were full of bluebells and wold garlic and the fields were bursting with young lambs and calves. The accommodation was very varied and ranged from hotels to inns and B &B's and their locations ideal for the walk. Always great to have a hot shower and meal after a days walk!

We have used Mickledore for our long walking holidays since 2015 and they are absolutely first class! Their website is very easy to navigate and offers a wide range of walks and support to suit everyone's needs and interests. One booked they send you an information pack full of information to guide you through the walk, where to eat and all the local amenities and attractions. They organise the accommodation which is always first class and can arrange your luggage to be transported to the next accommodation so you only have to carry your essentials. The cost are very reasonable for the level of service received and we are already planning next year's walk!

Dales Way. The whole trip was well planned and went off without a hitch. The scenery was at its best. Practically continuous bluebell and lambs from start to finish. Coming across wooded glades carpeted in blue was amazing.

We walked from Ilkley to Bowness-on-Windermere, a distance of 81 miles, in 6 days. Mickledore Travel organised the whole trip, including the accommodation and luggage transfers each day.

Mickledore are exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable on the telephone when booking. Their pre-departure holiday pack is incredibly informative and includes a map, book and suggested places to eat. During the holiday, we had a couple of issues (not Mickledore's fault) and Mickledore resolved them promptly and with professionalism. The accommodation they book is of a very high standard and the luggage transfer went smoothly.

Walking the Dales Way at the end of October could have been a bit risky, weather-wise! Yes, we had some rain but we also had sunshine, fabulous colours, superb views and free from crowds of people. It was well organised by Mickledore and the accommodation provided even more variety with B & Bs, a farmhouse and small country pubs.

This was my fourth walk organised by Mickledore and right from the first contact everyone I spoke to or communicated with was helpful and knowledgeable.

Tackled the Dalesway from Ilkley to Windermere in early September 2021. Path makes its way through Wharfedale, traverses into Ribblesdale and passes the Howgills into the Lakes. A stunning scenic way, walking is relatively easy following river valleys with few ascents and well waymarked. Highlights everyday passing historical sites such as Bolton Abbey, well known landmarks such as the Yorkshire three peaks and lovely towns and villages including Dent and Sedbergh.

Mickledore made the first class arrangements for our walk over 8 nights. We were staying at well appointed accommodation with friendly and helpful staff. Lovely meals were taken at the accommodation or were booked by us at nearby places suggested by MIckledore. Luggage transfers operated without a hitch. The guidebook and map provided made the day easy allowing us to enjoy the fantastic scenery.
