If you like sailing the south-western coast of Turkey on a beautiful gulet, eating well prepared traditional Turkish food, swimming in crystal clear turquoise water, walking through the countryside to explore ancient rarely visited sites, and learning about the archeology of these sites as well as local Turkish customs from excellent and entertaining guides, then this trip if for you. Highly recommended.

Total comfort on 12 guest Gulet in South West Turkey. A really well planned holiday, with a mix of walking parts of the Lycian Way with time to enjoy swimming in turquoise sea, sunbathe and be indulged with delicious food. Our leader, an historian and archaeologist made the history of the places we visited come alive. The captain and crew looked after our every need and the minivan lifts and pickups went like clockwork. It was a lot of fun.

We had not travelled with Peter Sommer Travels before. We were very impressed and would not hesitate to travel with them again.

Hiked to ancient Lycian ruins using the gulet as a home base. The gulet was luxurious. The food delicious.

2 weeks cruising along some of the South West coast of Turkey with my wife and 10 other people. There were walks to various sites using parts of the Lycian Way. The walks varied in length and difficulty which most people managed well. I had not taken sufficient notice of the likely terrain which was sometimes along pretty rocky steep paths so that we did not go on all the days walking as I am now 80. This was not a problem as we had a great time either spending the day doing just some of the journey,or on the boat or in the water, or canoeing, or doing different something on our own. We had a quite excellent holiday

Peter was there to lead the holiday which he did very professionally and with great knowledge of the ancient sites that we went to and their histories plus the conditions of each days walk. Could not have taken more trouble to sort out alternatives for when we did not wish to walk on any particular day. I can really recommend his holidays to anyone wishing to walk and see sites and at the same time have the comfort and fun of living on a very comfortable boat which will take you along the coast to different destinations.

We spent two weeks with a small group aboard an elegant Turkish Gulet cruising the Lycian shore. We had expertly guided excursions planned for each day where we visited sites with our archaeologist and Turkish guides. This was an active walking trip. The walks were well thought out and described. They included a mix of sites, mostly ancient along with stunning scenery. We were well nourished, physically and mentally, with delicious food and much information. Opportunities for swimming were abundant and beautiful. It was one of the most enjoyable guided trips we have ever taken!

Peter Sommer Travels is excellent in every regard. Their specialist knowledge in archaeology was what attracted us to travel with them but they are much more than expert guides. In the Fall of 2010 we joined Peter Sommer for an unforgettable experience aboard a gulet. We hiked and sailed and ate our way along the Turkish coast, and enjoyed every minute of it. Our expectations were exceeded in every way.

Peter Sommer's knowledge of Turkey and his wonderful way of imparting that knowledge to his guests was what made the trip memorable.
