Excellent walking, food and scenery.

. It was a brilliant holiday. The maps, references and information for the walks were good and the scenery and ancient sights we encountered were often breath taking. The hotels along the route were very varied in standard, some of them were excellent and others less so. Food was invariably good and the staff friendly and helpful.

On Foot went out of their way to cater for our needs. We wanted to do a 7 day walking holiday in 11 day with an extra 3 tacked onto the end. They arranged everything perfectly for us and at no time did we have any hiccup in the arrangements even though there were numerous opportunities for this to happen. When we had a problem at one of the hotels they sorted it out immediately. On our return they asked for feedback which they responded to quickly. Would thoroughly recommend them to other walkers.

Walking the Lycian Way

It was a one week, unguided, walking trip, with a daily accommodation and luggage courier service. Overall the service provision was good, and in parts excellent. The excellence tag applies to the selection of the route, choice of accommodation, and the quality of the directions provided.

They went out of their way to make us enjoy the trip!

We went on the Lycian Way with On Foot holidays. The holiday was fraught with disaster even before it started, with sprained ankles, incapacitated legs, etc. but On Foot was very good in giving us options in case we cannot hike. Then one of our parties' flight was delayed, and she missed the airport pick-up. We sent an email while we were still at the airport, asking for options for our friend. Then one of our parties' flight was delayed, and she missed the airport pick-up. We sent an email while we were still at the airport, asking for options for our friend. By the time we landed in Antalya, On Foot had it all sorted out.... They put my friend together with another group they were picking up at the same time and did not charge her extra! From there, the holiday was wonderful! The accommodations arranged for us were very nice, clean, showed wonderful hospitality and in cases where the food was included, had amazing food! The trek was great! Create views, and very good instructions, so we always managed to find our way!

Rating for tour operator:

Extremely helpful, flexible, providing us with options, very responsive to requests, questions, etc. (so far, i have ALWAyS gottena response within a few hours!). I've been on 2 holidays with On Foot so far, and the arrangements have always been excellent! We have been very pleased with the hotels they choose and all the logistics they have provided.

Hiking in Europe

This year we hiked the Lycian Way in Turkey with On Foot holidays. The coastal trail was rugged and wild at times punctuated with remote beaches. We were thrilled to find ourselves in the midst of Greek and Roman ruins that threw us back in history. The trails were at a level of difficulty that matched the description by On Foot holidays (we like a bit of a challenge.) We travelled at the beginning of June which was just beginning to be too warm for hiking but a quick swim was a nice way to cool off. Our stay in Cirali was a particular treat with a chance to recover on the beach and explore the flames of Chimaera. We found the people in Turkey to be very welcoming and enjoyed 2 days in Istanbul to begin the hike. It was just before the protests and we had no trouble at all. What a great place to see the convergence of faiths and cultures. It was a wonderful experience to explore Turkey and a new outlook on Europe for us. On Foot gave us the confidence to try something new this year and we did this because of the positive experience we had on 3 previous European hikes with them.

Rating for tour operator:

We have used On Foot Holidays from our base in Canada to explore hiking in Europe for 4 trips. The team at On Foot has been outstanding in providing us with all the support we need to access outstanding hiking opportunities across a range of european destinations. Each trip has been unique and exceeded our expectations. This is why we keep returning year after year. Each hike has been well planned and provided a variety of experiences with each day complementing the day before. We have had excellent accommodations and eaten well day after day on tours. Our only challenge has been to decide where to go. My husband and I use these holidays to recharge and reconnect. We usually select hikes that are just a bit more challenging than what we are used to at home. On Foot accommodates different difficulty levels which is helpful. At times we have had some complications arriving on time with our flight connections from Canada but On Foot knows where we are and where we should be and has used their contacts in the country we're arriving at to get us to the start of our hike. I think their web site is very accurate in giving a description of the hikes.

Flawless organisation of luggage transfers and taxis. We felt confident that, should we need it, help was at hand.

A wonderful self-guided walking holiday through the mountains and by the sea along the Lycian Way in the Spring. The abundant wild flowers and historic sites made it an unforgettable experience.

This was a fine self guided walk through the beautiful scenery along part of the Lycian Way - Turkey. Roughly, the walk follows the coast south of Antalya - known as the Turquoise Coast. The organisation and logistics of the holiday were fantastic - working almost like clockwork. And the arranged accommodation was well chosen to be of a consistently high standard, whilst providing widely varying character and interest. The walking was not physically difficult and the days were of sufficient length to challenge us, but leave time and energy for exploring in the evenings or even exploring the archaeological sites passed en-route. We did find that we needed to maintain our whits about us for some of the navigation. A taxi is provided to link part of the route, and a further taxi is needed for the optional walking excursion on the 'rest' day. This could detract from a pure 'A to B' walking experience.

Rating for tour operator:

On Foot Holidays were a pleasure to deal with. The booking process went smoothly, and since all of the holiday arrangements worked like clockwork, there was little need for their further involvement. On the other hand I was left feeling confidents that there was an appropriate organisation on hand if things went wrong. We will certainly have no hesitation of using On Foot Holidays again or of recommending them to others.

Walkig the Lycian Way

A week of walking through the spectacular countryside and along the coast of SW Turkey, passing through the ancient, ruined cities of Phaselis and Olympos and ending in the bustling city of Antalya. A great combination of exercise and culture. The walking was enjoyably moderately strenuous in parts, on well marked tracks, with very few others on the track. Perfect!

Another amazing walking holiday from OnFoot

This was our fourth walk with OnFoot and like the others, we were impressed with the prefect organisation, changing landscapes each walking day, and unique accommodations. We went at quite a hot time of year but on the plus side that meant we had warm seas to swim in, minimal people around us, and a dry but beautiful landscape. Highlights for us - our friendly driver Kumar, Emin Pansyion (food and service were both outstanding), eating local produce, soaring mountain/sea/cliff views, starting our walk high up in the mountains, the walk to Adrasan and then drinking beers at some of the restaurants perched over the river, lazing at Sundance... Thanks again for a great trip.

The London OnFoot team were always available to take our calls or emails whilst we were away. Their Turkish partners were equally as friendly and caring - consistently punctual, friendly, helpful, and accommodating.
