On Foot Holidays - Lycian Coast Overview

A self-guided hike on the Lycian Way. Walk to the sea at ancient Phaselis, a major archaeological site. Then south under Mt. Olympus (Tahtali) along the coast via Cirali (the city of Olympus and the Chimaera) and Adrasan to the Gelidonya lighthouse before a night in old Antalya.

The Turquoise Coast is one of the last unspoilt parts of Turkey's southern littoral. Our route runs along part of the Lycian Way, a long distance coastal footpath, along the bulge on the coast west of Antalya. It takes you down to the coast itself at Phaselis, a wonderfully preserved and little-visited Graeco-Roman site on a promontory, and then winds south past secluded beaches to the Chimaera, the eternal flame of legend. Explore this and the nearby site of Olympus (the Turkish one, that is), and then those last two days!
