Imagine waking up to sunrise onboard a handcrafted exquisite Turkish gulet boat in the Aegean Sea, the warm September air greeting you as you sip hot coffee waiting for your onboard family style breakfast to be served. The familiar morning routine for you and your fellow passengers is something out of a dream and you soak up every moment, wanting it to never end. This is what we discovered as we toured the coast of Turkey with the Peter Sommer's "Cruising to Ephesus" tour - an experience of a lifetime and memories we will cherish for many years to come. Our crew expertly took care of every detail and all we could possibly need. From delicious Turkish cuisine, coffee and tea, local wines, and daily excursions to see archaeological sites explained in detail by a true expert to local excursions arranged by our warm and generous local guide to daily swimming in the clear blue waters that are brisk and rejuvenating - all this became our dream come true. Never in all our travels have we had such a lovely trip expertly planned for us with such a lovely tour company.

As a couple who spent our careers in tourism, parks and interpretation - we were amazed at how well everything was planned for and created for the passenger's enjoyment. Our competent and engaging ship's captain, Olivier the amazing archaeology expert, Cem the gracious local guide, John the chef and all the rest of the crew were always working to make sure the passengers were well taken care of and ensured that we could both relax and learn all that we could about the area we visited each day. Both before, during and after the trip the PST company was available for questions and concerns. They made sure we always had contact information if we needed it and checked in on us as the day approached to embark on our journey. We always felt well taken care of - a true mark of excellent hospitality. If we can arrange it, we will go an another Peter Sommer's tour - knowing that we will have yet another trip of a lifetime due to all the work the company puts into taking care of their clients. We could not have been happier!

The most amazing trip - our archaeologist guide was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging and always willing to continue the conversation back on the boat. The food and wine were delicious and thoroughly representative of Turkish cuisine. Sailing on the gules and swimming in the crystal blue waters was so much fun!

Peter spends 8-12 hours with the guests and never hesitates to answer any question or resolve any issue. His operations are tight. Very impressive.

Cruising the Aegean coast of Turkey, visiting some astounding ancient sites en route to Ephesus. Some of the sites were deserted and it felt unreal to be standing almost alone among the ruins; such a privilege. Swimming and kayaking in hidden bays ; visits to little towns for lunch and shopping. Delicious meals on board with convivial fellow passengers. A fun and friendly family atmosphere on board; we had a beach clean up one morning, helped by the lovely crew. To cap it all off, we had a hammam in Bodrum before our farewell dinner. It was a wonderful trip, beautifully organised from start to finish and enhanced by our expert and our wonderful local guide. Peter Sommer think of everything. From pick up at the airport to seamless transfers from gulet to sites, meals in restaurants on land and ice creams in the heat! It is such a treat to let someone else do all the planning and organising while we can sit back and enjoy the gulet, the sea, the food, the fellow passengers and the magnificent ancient sites.

A beautiful ship, carrying interesting and companionable passengers and a thoroughly professional and engaging crew, carried us to archaeological sites stuffed with glimpses into an ancient world via glittering seas and secluded harbours. What could be better.
