Rock Hyrax Fly-in Safari

This exciting safari combines two great camps – Impala and Kwihala – in Tanzania's largest wildlife areas: Selous Game Reserve and Ruaha National Park; these camps offer an authentic taste of safari, and the parks are very different – it's a trip which explores these two fascinating areas, both of which supports a high concentration of wildlife.

Days 1-4

4 nights Selous Impala Camp – Selous Game Reserve, Tanzania

From the domestic terminal in Dar es Salaam you will catch a short light aircraft flight to Selous Game Reserve. On landing at Mtemere (or occasionally Siwandu) Airstrip an open-topped 4WD will take you on a game drive to Selous Impala Camp.

This stylish camp includes; walking safaris, game drives and boat trips, you'll stay here for 4 nights allowing plenty of opportunity to explore the reserve with the camp's enthusiastic guides.

Days 5-8

4 nights Kwihala Camp – Ruaha National Park, Tanzania

Kwihala camp is a black cotton soil area of Ruaha, with excellent widlife. It's about a 90-minute flight to the dramatic scenery of Ruaha. From the moment you arrive you'll be on a game drive, until you arrive at Kwihala Camp.You will immediately start to notice the differences, and similarities, between the flora and fauna of the two parks. The wildlife is slightly different, but equally prolific as Selous.

This mobile tented camp is simple yet luxurious. You'll spend 4 nights exploring the fantastic terrain with the enthusiastic and very knowledgeable guides.

Day 9

After your last morning safari, you will fly to Dar es Salaam where your itinerary will finish. However you may decide to continue onto one of our beach holidays in Zanzibar.
