We walked the Lighthouse Way on the Galician coast of Spain (Atlantic Ocean coastline). It was a very challenging walk but all of the arrangements by On Foot Holidays were excellent. This included the accommodations, the luggage transfers, and a few cab starts that make the walk more manageable for us.

All of our communications with On Foot Holidays were very timely and professional. The package they put together for us included very detailed maps and walking instructions that worked very well for us. Their man “on the ground” in Spain was very attentive to our communications and helped us out with a few local arrangements.

My wife and I did the 7-day Light House Way walking tour in Galicia. The Trip exceeded expectations in literally every way. Some background, we've done a couple dozen bike or hike trips in Europe, many self-planned and supported, and about 10 through tour operators, in which they move our luggage from inn to inn, like this trip. Also in the two weeks previous to our Galicia hike we had done a week walking and week biking in Portugal. So we were worried about burnout and whether this trip would feel like a let down. Instead the trip was incredibly rewarding. We did about 10 miles per day. First of all, there was hardly anyone else on the trail. The first day we met two other hikers, second and third day literally saw no one else on the trail, in either direction. The scenery was beautiful, like the rocky coast of Maine plus beautiful fields and cliffs like England , stone walls everywhere. Plus deserted beaches that were perfect for swimming. The inns/hotels were all superb and we had great food options in all the towns. On a few days we needed to carry lunches as the route is so remote there was no place for lunch along the way. The trail was pretty well marked, the GPS and notes from On Foot were spot on. And the route really wasn't very difficult, but it can be overgrown at times because it doesn't get a ton of usage. And one more thing, the local support person Aznar was also fantastic. Twice we had forgotten an item at our inn, and Aznar immediately called the inn and had them find the item and include it in our luggage to be shipped. Also we he arranged rides on two short road walking sections for us. Really responsive and competent. So for us, it was a really wonderful experience: totally comfortable, beautiful scenery/trail, great support from Aznar, great swimming. Really a top notch hike.

Really supportive. Very thorough. Very detailed oriented. Fantastic GPS route, as well as hard copy maps and route info. Couldn't ask for anything more from the company.

We loved the mix of beautiful scenery, small fishing villages, and beautiful beaches. There was also an interesting mix olodging, ranging from a hostel to five star experience in a hotel. The changing landscape each day was incredible! The tour includes some extra "shortcuts", which allow people who might not be up to the rigors of some aspects of the hike (seniors, those a bit less fit) to actually go on the hike and have the experience as well. This is perhaps one of the most beautiful hikes we've ever been on!

An enjoyable well organised coastal walk. Beautiful scenery fabulous beaches, dunes & forests. We love birdwatching which added to our overall experience especially at this time of year. Great to have the options to shorten the walks which we took most days. Accommodations were excellent, & the recommendations for eating out were very helpful. Aznar was a brilliant help, he organised taxis & dinner reservations. It was nice to know he was there if we needed help with anything.

We travelled with On Foot Holidays from Santiago to Finisterre. The views of the Atlantic and the deserted 2 km beaches were quite wonderful. We also experienced the energy and vibe of the Camino which has been extended to Finisterre. The accommodation was great especially the Youth Hostel in Muxia and the Lighthouse hotel at Finisterre.

We find the web site very useful in choosing the holiday, with filter options. Communication is always very efficient and the walking pack comprehensive. It is always good to know there is a local contact even if not required. This is our second holiday and we plan to use them again.

This was one of the most exhilarating holidays we have been on with Onfoot Holidays and we have been on many!! From the deserted white sandy beaches washed by Atlantic rollers to the boulder fields of strange rock formations into woodland filled with birdsong then onward to spectacular and exciting gorse covered cliff-side paths - The Lighthouse Way proved to be a wonderful experience. The variety of wild flowers in May provided a kaleidoscope of colours along the whole route and the helpful green wayside markets led us from lighthouse to lighthouse. The variety on the walk was matched too with the variety of accommodation, always of great quality, welcoming and of course with our luggage sitting in our rooms! We enjoyed meeting people from all over the world, crossing paths and briefly sharing the experience but ultimately we had the days to ourselves to enjoy the noise of the sea and the beauty of the landscape. Our route led us finally to the “end of the world” at Cape Finisterre. What a wonderful climax to the holiday and a beautiful place to stay and see the sunset at the end of a fantastic walking holiday.

Onfoot holidays have proved themselves to be a wonderful tour operator, providing a highly organised and yet personal service every time. The routes are interesting and well planned ( we love to still do it the old fashioned way and use the excellent written notes and maps with a bit of GPS thrown in if necessary)the accommodation always of great quality, sometimes quirky and extremely welcoming. (We relish being off the tourist routes and enjoying the hospitality of our hosts and the challenge and fun of communicating when English is not always spoken.) The information we get in advance and the support of a local representative mean that we have no trouble understanding the local area and get to eat in some fabulous cafes/ restaurants. Nothing is ever too much trouble and all the people we meet along the way (from taxi drivers to the accommodation hosts) obviously have a great working relationship with the team at Onfoot - who will at sometime and in some combination have walked the walk and talked the talk!!! We know we can certainly book with confidence and know we’ll be well looked after and have fun! The freedom of walking on our own with the confidence of a warm welcome, eating well and a good nights sleep at the end of the day makes this a truly relaxing holiday - an annual therapy that we just keep coming back to!! We walked as a group of 4 for six days along the Lighthouse Way in Galicia. The seascapes were breathtaking. We met only a handful of other walkers which intensified the beautiful isolation of some the locations. The local people were extremely welcoming and our accommodation was excellent throughout the week.

We have used On Foot several times and they have never failed to organise a truly memorable holiday for us. On Foot provide absolutely everything we need right from the moment we contact them to arrange our next walk. We are always so impressed with the superb standard of accommodation they manage to secure for us. Nothing is too much trouble for them and whenever we contact them, we are treated with patience, warmth and often humour. On Foot always provide us with a local contact to turn to if advice is needed or problems arise. This time, our contact regularly checked to see that everything was going smoothly. We always feel the success of our holiday is as important to On Foot as it is to us.

In the past I have backpacked all of my gear on adventures. This was awesome - our bags were reliably transferred daily. The daily hikes offered variations which enabled us to shorten some days to relax and enjoy the small towns when we preferred. The scenery was breathtaking. Each days sights varied from the previous. Meals were delicious and accommodation selections couldn't have been more comfortable.

On Foot staff went above and beyond in accommodation recommendations. As we initially booked our trip just prior to Covid we did have to rebook more than once. Staff were always helpful with suggestions, responded promptly to questions and were encouraging when it came to figuring out the GPS tracking system. I would not hesitate to book another adventure with On Foot and their staff.

Great walking experience along the Galician coast - exceptionally well organized, lovely overnight stays, enjoyable Galician meals. When we encountered weather challenges in our late October excursion, our fabulous local contact, Aznar, helped us adapt our daily schedule to avoid the worst weather and enjoy the best routes along this gorgeous, wild coast.. We will definitely book again with On Foot - onward to 2023!
