Family memories in the making and such a great feeling of being immersed in beauty, culture and have really accomplished something together.

There were six of us. my husband (69). myself (63), my 32 year old six months pregnant daughter and her husband and my 31 year old son and his girlfriend. We have had many adventures as a family together but this was definitely in the top three of all time. Time before and after the trip in Malaga proved to be a good place to rest up and recover from! Each route was gorgeous and extremely well planned and the food, lodging and hosts, narratives, directions, recommendations and the whole team from On Foot Holidays and their local contact Guy exceeded all of our expectations. I cannot wait to find the right time and place to plan our next trip with them.

The adjectives that come to mind are thoughtful, kind, patient, thorough, professional and always helpful and communicative through the planning and the execution. This team worked seamlessly together from start to finish to make this my best birthday celebration ever AND to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary with our kids. I can't imagine any other tour operator as exceptional as on Foot!

Fantastic walking trip in the Ronda Mountains

My trip was fantastic. The route was wonderful and the navigation notes were clear and easy to follow. I had one issue with a tied up gate, but the local guide was on the end of the phone to talk me through it. It was helpful to have the GPS file to check I was on the right track. All of the accommodation was clean, comfortable and welcoming with good food. The walkers pack was comprehensive and ensured I had all the information and equipment ...

Also, the weather was superb. All in all, the trip was everything I was hoping for and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This was my first trip with On Foot Holidays, but I look forward to doing more trips in the future.

What an incredible journey! It was really something to see the White Mountains of Ronda and learn the history of all these cliffside villages as we went along. Being able to go in January, which is when I had vacation, was really special and we did not share the paths with many other hikers. We were treated beautifully at all the hotels and lodges despite the off season timing. The wildness of the paths (sometimes marked only by cairns) added to the adventure and the distances were manageable for this slow walker. What a spectacular area of Spain! And I am so grateful to all the staff of On Foot Holidays, as they quite graciously put together this complicated trip at the last minute for us. It was an unforgettable trip for my daughter and me, and knowing that our beloved tour company will handle all the important details makes it a real vacation for us. Thank you, again, from the bottom of my heart.

They dream up these incredible off-the-beaten-track trips and then they walk them to make sure all of it is doable and perfect. Having a local contact who lives in Andalucia and knows all the ins and outs (and who was very responsive by text) really gives you so much more security. There is nothing On Foot doesn't think of, and it is a pleasure to plan and correspond with them, always.

Winter walking in Andalucia

We did the Andalucia walk with On Foot Holidays in early December 2022. Their planning and guidance were superb, as ever, which meant that we were able to enjoy the walking fully and know that all necessary arrangements were in hand.

On Foot Holidays communicated promptly and clearly at every stage, making sure that we were completely happy with the proposed itinerary and accommodation. Their pricing is clear, the website easy to navigate, and personal attention from all the team makes this a very good operator from start to finish.

A four day walk in the Sierra de Grazalema

An amazing walk through the Sierra de Grazalema, from one white village to the next. Each day we travelled through dramatically different landscapes, from meadows to craggy mountainsides and cork forests, most of it in complete solitude. Elated and exhausted, we arrived each evening to a warm welcome at our hotels, our luggage awaiting. Our final ascent to Ronda was hard but totally worth it!

Walking trip through the White Villages of southern Spain

We had excellent and unique accommodations, good hiking instructions for routes that took us through the area where most travels are not able to visit. We saw beautiful and varied scenery, lots of wildlife, farms and historical areas, wildflowers, etc. we were provided suggestions for things to see and places to eat in our non-hiking time. We combined this part of our trip with a visit to Granada, Cordoba, and Seville.

The information we received from our operator before leaving made this whole trip stress-free. We really didn’t need to contact anyone from the company while we were on the hike because of this. However, we knew we could easily get help and support if we needed it.

Challenging but Wonderful Trip

We are in our seventies and should have taken a little more care choosing our holiday. Even so, we loved our trip and felt that it was a wonderful experience.

Andalucia (Spain): mountains, valleys and white-washed villages.

In short: OUTSDANDING. 8 nights (6 days of walking) through the beautiful Grazalema area, ending in Ronda. Breathtaking scenery, challenging (for me) walking on stunning trails with few, if any, other people around. Cozy, homey accommodation and superb food. And as an extra bonus perfect weather during the entire trip.

I became aware of OnFoot after reading a travel article (published in 2019) in the Washington Post about their ‘Galicia – Lighthouse Way’ walk. Was immediately intrigued and booked the trip shortly thereafter. After Covid delays, in 2021 I walked the Lighthouse way and did the ‘Mallorca: Sierra de Tramuntana’ journey. I’ve been hooked on OnFoot ever since. Besides the extremely well-planned itineraries, stunning (and challenging) walking, great accommodation, and food their service, client focus, and general competence have exceeded my expectations. I can reiterate this as I’ve now done four of their walks (added Andalucia and ‘Basque Country to San Sebastian’ walks this year). I travel on my own and OnFoot have an explicit policy of not over-charging single travelers, which I greatly appreciate. Finally, I find the trips to be extremely good value. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

A really memorable holiday

We enjoyed the walks in Andalucia so much and everything was so incredibly well organised that the stress of travelling and route finding was completely removed.
