Andalucia- White Villages of the Ronda Mountains

Bus from Malaga to Ronda then taxi to Zahara. Five days of self-guided walking through this lovely National Park. Dinner, B&B accommodation pre-booked in small guest houses; heavy luggage taken from and to each venue via taxi. Final Night in Ronda and then bus back to Malaga. The scenery, hospitality and accommodation were all amazing!

On Foot Holidays are friendly and incredibly well organised. All the necessary detailed information was provided for self-guided walking in this relatively remote area. We also had an app which alerted us if we were straying from the designated path, which we did a couple of times. Very helpful local representive also on hand to answer any specific questions.

On Foot Holiday, Andalucia Spain

My husband and I had a wonderful 7 day walking experience walking the white villages of Andalucia, Spain. This was our second trip with OnFootHoliday (our 1st was to Cornwall, UK) and it was fantastic. The communication with the staff prior and during the trip was quick, thorough and easy. This was our second trip with OnFootHoliday (our 1st was to Cornwall, UK) and it was fantastic. The communication with the staff prior and during the trip was quick, thorough and easy. Sue, our contact while on the trip, was easy to connect with and she responded to our questions/inquiries quickly. The route was beautiful, serene and also challenging. Each village was unique, picturesque and truly reflected the history of that region of Spain. We walked through miles and miles of olive orchards on dirt paths with some occasional goats, cows or horses joining us on route. The terrain had a lot of elevation gain and we were glad we had hiking poles with us. The lodging was very comfortable and the hotel staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. Most of the lodging had swimming pools which we found refreshing after a long day of hiking. The OnFootHoliday app worked great. It notified us with a beeping sound when we went off the track and reassured us we were walking in the right direction when we were uncertain. We also appreciated having the printed out map and directions as back up. The restaurant recommendations and other information in the app were very helpful. Thank you OnFootHoliday for another memorable vacation. I am already dreaming of our next vacation with OnFootHoliday.

Communication prior to booking, after we booked and while on our holiday was excellent. On Foot Holiday staff got back to us right in a timely manner and answered all of our questions. They booked our lodging and even made dinner reservations for us. The app was very helpful. Not only did it have a GPS that described our daily route, but it showed us where we were in real time and let us know when we had left the route. It provided information about each hotel we'd be staying in and helpful information about each village and information about the region. We felt supported by On Foot Holiday throughout the planning phase all the way through the end of our travels.

6 days walking through pueblos blancos I’d Andalucía. . Wonderful scenery and beautiful views in all directions. Wildflowers in the high meadows. Hardly saw a soul. Comfortable hotels with great hospitality at the end of each day.

Beauty and Culture in Andalucia’s White Villages

Early April is an excellent time to hike between four distinct villages in Andalucía. Each village was unique in its protective position, either draping a mountain peak or surrounded by verdant cliffs. Between the villages, the self guided hiking trip provides gorgeous views to far flung little white villages, nestled into their landscape. At the end of each long day, we were warmly welcomed to an impeccable inn, and found cold drinks and excellent dining. Our favorite experience was crossing Grazalema Natural Park, an awe inspiring traverse that had us stopping often to take pictures, which could never do it justice, and remark about the colorful spring flowers carpeting the green grass, the remarkable rock formations, and the gentle surrounding hills and peaks.

This was our eighth trip with On Foot Holidays, and they continually impress us with their personal and professional communication and services. They provide a full package of information, including an excellent Walkers Pack, full of details from local history and culture, to post travel bus and train schedules. Their local contacts have always been very resourceful and friendly. We often remark to fellow walkers of their quality of service, as we know On Foot is superb.

5 days walking point in the wild Ronda mountains in Andalucia with vultures circulating high overhead. Each night resting in a comfortable hotel in one of the beautiful white villages in Grazalema National Park. Finishing in the historic town of Ronda perched high on the hill top looking back at where we had walked.

On Foot Holidays provide a friendly personal service, with well planned routes, and an excellent choice of family style hotels. Nothing is too much trouble; from last minute walking suggestions from their local expert in the area, to booking taxis, or organising dinner. We have used On Foot Holidays many times and would highly recommend them for the complete self guided walking holiday.

Excellent holiday, beautiful scenery, loved the challenge that each days hike brought with it.

A wonderful 6 days. All hotels were clean, with great hospitality, and lovely meals. Loved the hiking, we were lucky with the weather. Late March is a good time to go, as the weather isnt too warm as yet.

On Foot team were very helpful, supportive and gave us all the information we needed prior to travelling. Having both written guidance and GPS tracks made each hike easy to complete. Our local contact in Spain was also amazing, she responded quickly to all our queries, for which we were very thankful.
