skiing in Finnish lapland

We skied for three days at Levi, we had great snow and good weather. We saw the Northern Lights, and the resort staff couldn't have been more helpful.

Ski Lapland

We were transported to another world for a week. From skiing to snowmobiling, husky sledding to sleeping in glass igloos it was an experience none of us will ever forget. Everything was organised for us by Ski Lapland which meant we could just sit back, relax and enjoy!

Ski Holiday in Levi, Finland

Our third ski holiday to Levi in Finland in the Arctic Circle. Levi is a small resort with short runs and mainly served by T-bars (although chair lifts and a Gondola serve the main runs). Well-groomed slopes perfect for beginners / intermediates, family orientated with superb accommodation for the price. We went during UK half term and had short queues with high quality service during lessons, restaurants, ski hire. Travel (for us) has been via Heathrow to Helsinki, and then to Levi, with only a 15 min transfer from the airport. Additional excursions include cross-country skiing, husky drives, reindeer parks, plus a chance of seeing the Northern Lights (which we did). Note, this is not for you if you are looking for a hi-octane Alps-equivalent, but perfect for a quality, relaxing holiday with skiing for the family.

Rating for tour operator:

SkiLapland have been our tour operator for the past three years and have dealt with all our requirements as well as being very attentive during our time away. They have successfully organised all ski hire, accommodation, transfers, lift passes, plus extra excursions. They are professional and knowledgeable, and I would highly recommend using them (ask for Matt Nolan or Megan)

Fantastic Finnish Ski-ing

We travelled with SkiLapland to Helsinki for a stopover to look at this amazing city in the snow and awe at the frozen sea. We then travelled to Kittila for 5 days of skiing and with a side tour of husky sledging. It was all fantastic.

Best Holiday!

Our hotel was great, the food they served us in the restaurant was brilliant, we got to try some Finnish cuisine. Mainly Reindeer and False Morel Mushrooms. Everything was simply delicious. The reception staff lady that checked us in was fantastic, sadly I did not get her name. She spent time arranging for us to have a room with a better view and after asking her about phone calls if the lights appeared she kindly rang us when they faintly decided to show up on the Monday evening. The Skidoo Safari was fun and we were lucky enough to see the lights right at the end of the excursion! The Huskey Sled Experience was something else, so sweet and funny being pulled along by dogs that are so excited they are frothing at the mouth then after they've done their run they are the sweetest docile little doggies. We spent a good 40 minutes after fussing them and had to keep being reminded we need to leave haha! We were pleased to have a change of scenery for the last night as there's only so many times we could walk around our area in Levi... What a one off experience After reading the documentation in the Igloo we understood why the bed was separate mattresses, because they lift up so that you can angle yourself to see the lights better, a very novel idea! Oh and we saw the lights again that night. The restaurant was wonderful and the surrounds there at the Igloos are just stunning. We were pleased to find out our booking had breakfast included! A brilliant holiday, thank you so much. A perfect Honeymoon!

Really pleased with what Karen and the team arranged for us. All of our transfers were smooth and perfect, everything was thought out and planned for us with care by yourselves.

Fantastic holiday experience.

we had a magical Santa experience, a holiday of a lifetime. We and our 5 year old twins had the time of their lives as did their Grandparents. Ski Lapland made the whole experience relaxed and effortless for us and every part of the trip was superb. The flexibility to add days skiing to the end of the trip was the icing on the cake and we would absolutely recommend Ski Lapland.

Fantastic trip to meet Father Christmas in Lapland

Our trip to Lapland got off to a poor start when the flight was delayed by over 2 hours with us sitting on the plane at Manchester Airport. However, once we took off everything else ran like clockwork. We were met at Kuusamo Airport by our holiday rep and taken to our resort which was lovely. Our apartment was perfect as it overlooked the ski-runs and was within walking distance of restaurants and shops. All of our activities were well organized and great fun. My 5 year old daughter and I especially loved the dog-sledding. Meeting Father Christmas was as much fun for me as it was her! Three days wasn't long enough to spend in such a beautiful place.

Rating for tour operator:

SkiLapland were very helpful and provided all of the information needed prior to travel. The representatives at the resort were friendly. Would definitely recommend using them to book a holiday to Lapland.

We had a variety of ages from 5,11 and 14 and this Ski Lapland holiday was perfect for this, very personal and not gimmicky or commercial. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend! All activities were organised to perfection. We also had a days skiing and the hire of equipment was excellent service too. The only thing I would suggest is that as we were there over Christmas itself it would have been nice if the cottage had have had some Christmas decorations but to be honest you were hardly inside so it did not matter, just would have been a nice touch!

Rating for tour operator:

Absolutely brilliant! Best Christmas ever! Great communication from the word go and very personal service. The organisation of all the transfers and activities were exceptional. The guides for the activities were very personable and attentive too. A wonderful holiday in every way, We all want to come again!!
