One week tour of the Outer Hebrides
My husband and I were blessed with amazing weather for our week long tour of the Outer Hebrides. We flew from Glasgow to Barra on a small plane and landed spectacularly on the beach - which was an experience I recommend to anyone visiting this part of the world. We then slowly made our way, by car/ferries, from Barra up through South and North Uist and onto Harris and Lewis. Apart from enjoying numerous walks on breathtakingly beautiful beaches, we succeeded in visiting the Island St. Kilda - witnessed the nesting gannets and puffins - and walked up the highest sea cliffs in the UK. The locals were all friendly and welcoming, and local seafood was excellent - although as expensive as dining in West Sussex, which perhaps, on reflection, shouldn't have been a surprise. Although the scenery was amazing, I think our experience would have been very different if the weather had been foul!

Having advised McKinlay-Kidd what we were looking for in a holiday to the Outer Hebrides, they did a very good job in arranging our week, booking connecting ferries and pre-booking our memorable trip to St. Kilda. The places we stayed overall were good, especially the last B & B - which was in a stunning location and run by a delightful couple whose attention to detail re service and food was first class.

Magical trip to the outer hebrides
Just returned from the Outer Hebrides following a ten day adventure from Barra ending in Stornoway. Fantastic time, beautiful scenery and excellent accommodation with wonderful Scotish welcome. The trip to St Kilda was the high spot and not to be missed weather permitting

Mc Kinlay Kidd were exceptional and always at hand to help if the Scotish weather tried to be unhelpful. Great planning and an excellent choice of accommodation and helpful holiday trips and adventures.
Thank you very much indeed for your kind comments. We are delighted you enjoyed the exploration of a rather wonderful part of these islands.

I would recommend this trip to anyone whom likes history, scenery and multi season weather. Accommodation as organised was great and we were greeted each day as friends. The area has so much diversity to offer. Of course landing on Barra Beach is a real buzz. Had a good otter viewing and saw lots of seals.
