Discovery of Cultural History in Luxury

Never experienced a better planned and executed operation: not once we had wait for a minute at an airport or at a hotel or at any of the sights for the guides and drivers from Pettitts. The selection of our hotels were excellent and due to the extremely well planned Itinerary - genuinely'tailor-made' to our age and personal interests - we still had plenty of time for relaxation. The selection of our hotels were excellent and due to the extremely well planned Itinerary - genuinely'tailor-made' to our age and personal interests - we still had plenty of time for relaxation. This time we visited South India and we loved it. Very different from the North...everything seems to be green and gentle; the general culture of people and their attitude to visitors is very friendly. Rich in cultural heritage and our Itinerary made sure we've seen a good selection of the most beautiful sights/temples/palaces.

Grand Tour - Sight and Experiances in India

We discussed our thoughts relating to exploring new experiences in India with Pettitts some time ago. All the issues of timing, travel options, styles of accommodation available to us, and in particular, the opportunities to enjoy new places to visit. A suitable itinerary and budget was completed to our satisfaction which led to us making our tip, and really enjoying another Indian holiday. Most importantly, the plans put in place prior to leaving UK for this trip proved to be actioned into reality by the local Pettitts associated in India - from Punjab to Tamil Nadu - and these people delivered an almost glych free and really enjoyable visit

A fascinating tailor-made fortnight in Iran

Iran was a surprise. We were expecting a country whose development and people had been held back by the twin hands of religious dogma and US/UK sanctions, but what we found was a modern, prosperous, vibrant culture and very friendly, outgoing people who were always stopping us for a chat. Iran was a surprise. We were expecting a country whose development and people had been held back by the twin hands of religious dogma and US/UK sanctions, but what we found was a modern, prosperous, vibrant culture and very friendly, outgoing people who were always stopping us for a chat. The holiday provided plenty of variety. Whilst Persepolis was probably the star historic site, there were also palaces, mosques, funerary sites, caravanseri, ice houses and more, plus beautiful gardens, fascinating old towns and bazaars, and some really good museums. Travelling around was easy because the roads were excellent, and the hotels were of a higher standard than we expected. Food was pretty good too.

Rating for tour operator:

Iran is not the easiest destination for a tour operator, especially for a tailor-made tour, and some of those to whom we made preliminary enquiries did not fill us with confidence. We chose Pettitts because they seemed to have a fairly good knowledge of the country and whilst making helpful suggestions of their own, were ready to adapt them to meet our requests. Also, we have used them before and knew they were reliable. They did not disappoint. The holiday went very smoothly and was a great success. They were also able to provide detailed advice on the somewhat difficult process of getting a visa, and coped well with the added complication of a party that comprised two British and two American citizens. We would have no hesitation in using them again.
