Lovely tour around rural Spain

A great holiday, discovering rural Spain and villages/mountains. Really interesting to be able to drive between destinations in our own vehicle. Driving was easy and the people we met were really nice.

Very helpful in every way, for instance when we wanted to shorten the holiday by one day.

We never tired of the view

The casita is very comfortable and well equipped with a lot of character. The owner and family were very friendly and helpful. The young daughter acted as an excellent translator into English for the take-over instructions as our Spanish is limited. Having rented holiday properties all over Spain for a number of years, we are happy to report that this rates amongst the best we have had.

The Perfect Tour of Northern Spain

A wonderful trip encompassing the beautiful cities of Burgos, Salamanca and Leon with the second week on the dramatic coasts of Asturias and Cantabria. Staying in charming hotels over 3 and 4 nights giving us time to explore both the cities and the countryside.

A wonderful fortnight classic car driving in the Pyrenees

Hi Andy. Back now after a great trip thanks. One break down in David’s Midget which lost us 7 hours due to not having a magnetic screwdriver together with the local garage downing tools for their 2 hour lunch as they arrived on the truck. As discussed on the phone all we needed was the screwdriver and we would have been off!! Nevertheless come the return time of 3.30 and production of the tool we were away in 15 minutes with no further problem...

Nevertheless come the return time of 3.30 and production of the tool we were away in 15 minutes with no further problem. David has now ordered a full set for next year!!! We were well impressed with the accommodation. Particular mention goes to Miguel at Posada la Pastora who was exceptional, from arranging parking in the square outside (in spite of the notices being attached to the cars threatening all sorts!!) to booking a splendid meal for us in a local bar. He and Inma could not have been more helpful and thoroughly deserve their high rating. Irigoienea had a local problem as a villager’s final send off was taking place and all the restaurants were closed but the owner did us a great simple Tapas meal which was just the job….. Daniel at Posada al Vent, we thought was trying too hard with his food and was lacking the warmth of Miguel. A wonderful property , but with an excellent restaurant 200m away he should bring his fare into line if he wants to attract guests. We couldn’t see how he could ever make it work on the current model given the huge investment in the exceptional building. El Privilegio we talked about on the phone. Antonio was excellent and gave us much local information. The restaurant was very good and the only issue was 18 Euros a night for parking without warning. Fair enough in the ski season but a rip off in summer………. Castillo del Collado was superb. Good restaurant and home strength G&Ts at 6 Euros rather than 10 experienced at al Vent for very weak ones!!!!! We loved the town and the wine cave tour we took. Many thanks again for keeping us updated with things and we look forward to using you again at some point.

Wonderful location, home from home

After a strenuous, baking-hot week walking in the Picos de Europa we spent a relaxing week in this lovely little house, 5 minutes walk from a wonderful sandy beach. There were a couple of glitches: water supply cut off temporarily (the whole village had a problem for a few hours but our holiday contact found out about it for us)and a broken blind - fixable with a carefully positioned peg and the carpenter came to mend it. However that didn't detract from our enjoyment and showed how attentive the holiday contacts were for any issues arising. Lots of brochures were available for interesting places nearby, a wide variety of paperback novels satisfied each person's tastes, the balcony (we were on the upper floor section of the house) caught the sun beautifully and our two teenage children asked if we could come back next year! All in all - everyone's boxes ticked - Thank you

Wonderful, individual service with excellent local knowledge of the property, area and facilities.

Camino del Norte Tour

This was our first holiday without our daughter (who is now 18) and it exceeded our expectations. Everything was organised and sorted without fuss and detailed information about each stop of the tour was provided. The hotels we stayed in were lovely and gave a real mixture and taste of the different styles and regions of Northern Spain. I have already recommended this holiday and company to others and would book another tour through them again...

Independent driving tour of Northern Spain

We thoroughly enjoyed the beauty and variety found in this region of Spain. Staying in a range of small independent hotels - all of which were special in their own way - we received a very warm welcome and excellent service at each of them. Our holiday exceeded our expectations - Casas Cantabricas did a good job.

We chose Casas Cantabricas as they were offering exactly the type of tour we wanted - one which allowed us to experience a variety of aspects of Green Spain at a relaxed pace. The tour they arranged for us more than matched our expectations - we were impressed by the contrasting locations and excellent accommodation they chose for us.
