The West Highland Way is a long distance walk (96 miles) through the Scottish wild lands. We saw incredible scenery all along the way experiencing the beauty of Loch Lomond, Rannoch Moor, Devil's Staircase and the highlands ending in Fort William. We chose to do the walk in 9 days with a day off for site seeing in Oban. Mikledore worked hard to ensure we had excellent accommodation along the way including baggage transfer and packed lunches when available. What a memorable trip! Everything went so smoothly. Although the walk was challenging and long at times we were able to relax in the evening at our accommodations and enjoy a great meal.

We would not hesitate to use Mickledore for our next walking holiday in UK. We used them last year for two walks and now they have us hooked on long distance walking. We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Mickledore to design our walks. They are so quick to respond and offer experienced advice. They research information for us so we can just concentrate on preparing for the walk. Even though there was a time difference of 7 hours between our home in Canada and England this was never an issue - we still had excellent communication with Mickledore. We are hoping to travel to England next year and have Mickledore plan a walking trip for us.

They provide well organized and thoughtfully planned guidance on the self guided walking routes in the UK, a guide book, map and details on each day’s walk and accommodation, luggage transfer and the accommodation based on their extensive experience in providing these walking routes over many years. They did all the leg work so we could enjoy a worry free walking holiday.. We would highly recommend Mickledore to other walkers.

We booked to walk the 8-day Weast Highland Way through Mickledore. As a couple of mid 70-year-olds we have a lot of walking experience but last-minute injuries took prominence on day 2 and we had to stop walking and continue the holiday by various modes of transport. But the fact that all the organisation and support worked so well meant that we still enjoyed the experience. We always knew that our luggage would be there at the next stop, the accommodation would be of a good comfortable standard, and there would be support at the end of a telephone if we needed it. It was not the holiday we had originally planned for but a great experience none the less.

Any walking holiday is dependent on the weather, fitness and lack of injuries, any of which can conspire to reduce the enjoyment. The knowledge that the organisational input has been demonstrated in the information pack and personal contact over the telephone gave us the certainty that things would work out if needed. I was particularly impressed by the personal touch shown by the staff over the telephone prior to going and in being kept up to date with any changes to the schedule and accommodation. Having Micklemore to dealing with the logistics of moving luggage and making bookings for accommodation was exceptional. Plus the fact that we know that can arrange with Mickledore for a bespoke holiday to continue part of the walk at a later date.

A once in a lifetime experience walking the West Highland Way. Beautiful Scotland, very friendly people, hikes I will never forget in various ways. Loved it.

No worries, just walk! Mickledore organised my holiday perfect. The only thing I had to do was to walk, everything else was arranged. The accomodations were good, and a few even excellent. The information about the holiday was very complete.

I went with 3 friend on a trekking in June. the West Highland Way. Everthing was organized by Mickeldore Travel. The hotels, pick-nick, It was super.

trekking van 9 dagen Van Mingavie naar Fort William via de West Highland Way. Fantastische natuurervaring en uitstekende verblijven. De route zelf was zeer duidelijk aangeven. We hebben geluk gehad met het weer slechts 2 dagen met regen.

Vlotte communicatie via mail met Mickeldore Travel. Zeer vriendelijke mensen en je kan alles vragen ze helpen je vlot verder. Zeer behulpzaam. De verkregen documentatie was uitgebreid en duidelijk. Alle verblijfplaatsen waren verwittigd en waar voorzien lag de picknick klaar.

We walked the West Highland Way - 96 miles over 10 days, with 9 days walking. The walk goes from Milngavie just north of Glasgow, to Fort William and passes through stunning Scottish Scenery. We were blessed with good weather 8 days out of 9.

We had used Mickledore previously and their service had been excellent. We had no hesitation in choosing them again. Mickledore arrange the accommodation and baggage transfer. We have used Mickledore fora number of years to manage logistics in booking accommodation and dealing with all aspect of our walking holiday in Scotland . We were keen to see the unspoilt Scottish country side and were not disappointed with some epic views on walking the two famous Scottish national trails.

Mickledore provide comprehensive information on the trip from details concerning the location and arrival details for each hotel/B&B , with useful information on amenities on route, from restaurants to places to grab a coffee on route. As a remote walk details on how to fuel on route is super important.

We walked the west Highland Way in September 2023. The organisation and quality of accommodation was top class. We had a wonderful time. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
