Walked Hadrian's Wall, taking in all the forts, turrets and milecastles that we could. The most amazing site was Vindolanda, which is not actually on the wall, but a mile or so south. Glad that we gave a day to visit it. We were constantly impressed by the work that the Romans must have done to buld this wall around AD122. Spent nights in a mix of pubs and B&Bs, all geared to provide comfortable accommodartion for the walker.

Mickledore gave first class service, booking transport and accommodation, providing maps and useful information on places to eat shop and so forth. Also helped with a late change when we had to modify our plans.

We had an absolutely wonderful time walking Hadrian's Wall last week, all prepared by Mickledore. They sent through the maps and guidebooks we needed; reserved the packed lunches and arranged the baggage transfer; and most important, selected and booked the most wonderful guesthouses to stay in. Every place we stayed as unique, welcoming and spotlessly clean. I would love to do it again immediately!

This is my third or fourth walk with Mickledore and I've always been pleased -- in fact, I have stayed again at (and recommended to friends) some of the guesthouses they've found for me on walks. I plan to keep walking with them for many years in the future!

Our group of six had a wonderful time following the Hadrian's Wall Path from Wallsend to Bowness-on-Solway. The first day started at Segedunum Fort and then mostly followed the river east exploring the industrial/commercial history of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. The last day was spend walking scenic countryside mostly through peaceful fields and roads. In between these days, we had a great time walking along the remains of Hadrian's Wall with the Vallum and Roman Ditch, exploring the forts, milecastles and turrets on the way. The historical signage is frequent and informative. Each museum added new information about the history of the area, development of the wall and subsequent history. The path is well signed and easy to follow especially with the good guidebook and map we had. The route is also great for birding.

Mickledore Walking Holidays - The tour operator was professional, experienced, responsive, helpful and knowledgeable. They worked well with us to craft a holiday that met our 6-person group's interests and schedule. They provided an excellent annotated guidebook, map of the walk and arranged our lodging. The accommodations were very pleasant with helpful hosts and located to make sure we had places to eat either at the lodging or within walking distance nearby. They responded promptly when we had questions. They made this holiday a great experience.

I have done several walks with Mickledore and they are always well organized and thoughtfully planned out. Everything usually goes according to plan and the rare time it doesn’t, the company quickly makes things right.

I booked the Hadrian's Wall walk within 10 days of departing and the Mickledore team couldn't have been ore helpful or accommodating in resolving final queries and expediting the pack and itinerary to me.This was my first solo traveler experience, and the hosts of all of the B&B's couldn't made me feel more welcome. A first class service covering one of the nicest walking routes in the UK.

Spent seven days walking Hadrian's Wall path west to east. Mickledore booked the accommodation arranged to transport my luggage between each stop. Breakfast and packed lunch provided each day. Very well organised and documented. If anyone is contemplating this challenge I have no hesitation in recommending Mickledore.

My husband and I (ages 74 and 78) walk Hadrian's Wall Path coast to coast in 10 days. All lodging and luggage transfer done by Mickledore. Wonderful B&Bs.

Mickledore planned everything and we walked the wall on our own, No guide needed.

I walked the Hadrian’s Wall Path from east to west in eleven days and I enjoyed every stage. The landscape is wonderful, the remains of the Roman Empire quite interesting and the old villages, churches and farms along the path had this real British character I like. I walked alone but was never lonesome as I met with nice people along the path and was received by friendly and helpful hosts in the B&Bs and Inns that were booked for me by Mickledore.

I booked the holiday with Mickledore - Walking Holidays, which I found on the internet and that appeared to be a good choice. Everything was perfect: the information, communication, accommodations and luggage courier: Top!
