A rain soaked few days on the Best of the Cumbria Way

The hope had been a few glorious autumn days, soaking up the beautiful colours and revelling in the fresh air on the middle part of the Cumbria Way. Rating for tour operator:

Very efficient. Emails were responded to swiftly, the information pack provided was extremely helpful and the accommodation we were booked into was clean and comfortable. Everything was organised very well, meaning a stress free holiday. All we had to do was turn up.

Cumbria Way in 5 days

Occasional roue finding problems, despite 3rd party maps and a guide book (and the odd human error), but we always ended up where we were supposed to be, in good time too.

Brilliant organisation

I did a walking holiday 'The Cumbrian Way' with Mickledore travel which was very well organised. All the accommodation was of a good standard with friendly service and excellent food. Our bags were always there when we arrived and each B&B gave us a warm welcome.

Cumbria Way (Ulverston to Carlisle)

Interesting and varied trail in 5 days through some of the best Lake District scenery (except the last half day from Dalston to Carlisle which was rather dreary). Benefit of good weather, and particularly enjoyed days 2 to 4.

We contacted Mickledore and they provided a customised walking package from Ulverstonto Caldbeck ong the Cumbria Way. The weather was mixed , as you would expect in the Lake Distrct. Only once did it rain all day as we walked over Stale Pass to Rosthwaite and the luxury of Scafell Hotel. The service here was excellent. We had taxis- arranged by Mickledore to take us and collect to the beginning and end of a coulke of days. These all worked very well.

We have used Mickledore 6 times now, and we have passed their contact details on to friends who have and are at the moment using them, and there is nothing to fault them on. The Internet, telephone and face to face communications are excellent. The lodgings- whether B&B, Guest Houses or hotels- are very good and the feedback form allows great detail if required. The transport of luggage just works so very well. The printed matter about the walk is so complete and all the lo Al details are fully covered as well. The walk we arranged through Mickledore was customised for us and the Taxis were exceptionally well organised and no worry at all. We would unreservedly recommend this tour operator, Mickledore

A great walk in the Lake District

We are keen photographers but with weak knees, and so we needed an itinerary that allowed us to see the best views but without being too much of a challenge. Mickledore gave us good advice and came up with a plan that fully met our requirements. We had a very enjoyable week, met some nice people, and enjoyed some great pub meals. The weather was perfect and we have taken some fantastic pictures.

Cumbria Way Walking Holiday

We thoroughly enjoyed our Cumbria Way walking holiday arranged by Mickledore. We chose to do the whole 72 miles, with 8 days walking/9 nights, and we added 2 rest days - Coniston and Keswick. We did the full package - accommodations, map and guidebook, packed lunches, and luggage transport. We did purchase the e-book version of our guidebook so we could read it from our phones.

Rating for tour operator:

Mickledore made it very easy for us (2 couples) to just walk and enjoy the beautiful Lakes District. Our accommodations were nice and comfortable with friendly helpful hosts who also made our lunches. The holiday pack gave us lots of information for dinners. This was our second walking holiday with Mickledore (the first was the Westmorland Way 3 years ago) and we are already talking about which one to do next.

Well organised, good value, successful trip

My wife and I walked the Cumbria Way from Ulverston to Carlisle last week. It was a 90 mile long distance walk over 8 days in glorious countryside and it was hard but very rewarding.

Mickledore were great from start to finish from their website to their organisation of our trip, from the places they booked us for overnight stays to the taxi pickups and finally the feedback email. I would not hesitate to use them again.
