Excellent experience! From the planning phase to the flight home, everything was well organized. My individual preferences were taken into consideration and the trip was very tailored to my requests. The detailed travel plans were well communicated and I had no issues finding locations and lodgings. I truly loved every lodging reserved! Couldn't recommend more and will definitely be suggesting The Tartan Road to friends!

Everything we wanted to see and experience during the three days we had available (landscapes, distilleries, traditional villages and local cuisine) was carefully planned by Tartan Road. The result was an unforgettable journey through a little piece of Scotland that left us wanting to go back and discover more.

The hotel choices were excellent, the restaurant choices fantastic and the travel arrangements faultless. Nothing was too much trouble for Emily whose communication throughout was helpful and professional.

We had the most wonderful, entertaining, organized, breathtakingly beautiful trip! I had high expectations, but Emily and her staff at The tartan Road exceeded them all. Our hotels were stunning, the tours were engaging and educational, our mercedes van was clean and comfortable- and Danie, our chauffeur for the week, I just cannot praise him enough. He was a font of knowledge and was our tour guide as well as our driver. My sister was in Scotland in August; we were comparing notes about our trips and she kept wanting to know how I knew to do some of the things we did- I just said “Emily”! She was a bit disappointed in her trip- confirmation that the right travel agent makes all the difference. From the moment we began planning our trip, The Tartan Road staff was so responsive and patiently answered all of our questions. The entire trip really was tailored specifically for our interests. Everything was perfect, even with a tiny luggage issue and the guys not catching a fish. We could never have designed this trip on our own. We already are thinking about returning!

A 9 day, self-drive trip around Scotland perfectly planned by Tartan Road!

Tartan Road looked after every detail for us. From crafting an itinerary based on our interests to seamlessly taking care of all booking details. Tartan Road also provided a wealth of information for all aspects of our route from sights not to miss to places specifically targeted to our interests. Perfectly planned!

Emily and The Tartan Road team planned the trip of a lifetime in Scotland. When I reached out to The Tartan Road with plans for a 9-day honeymoon in Scotland, Emily came up with a tailored itinerary to ensure we weren't driving endlessly, but still enjoying the best of this beautiful country. While we were interested in visiting our favorite whisky distilleries, Emily made sure to book us the best restaurants and accommodations. The food alone stood up to our New York tastes with some of the restaurants serving some of the best meals we've ever had! From those first few emails to the last day of the trip, Emily had a constant pulse on any changes to our itinerary. When the weather in Islay was windy and rainy, she was extremely communicative about potential changes to our ferry departure back to the mainland. Every single day, from the moment we picked up our rental car to the sad day we dropped the car off, was incredibly smooth thanks to The Tartan Road's incredible service and planning. We kept the beautifully constructed paper itinerary as a memento for the trip of a lifetime! We're already thinking about our next trip to Scotland.

Emily is a fantastic communicator and incredibly attentive. She built a phenomenal itinerary that surpassed our expectations all due to her expertise. Every single day was perfectly planned and not once did we feel fatigued. We savored every moment and relished the next day all thanks to Emily.

Our holiday was 16 days in Scotland, starting in Edinburgh for 3 nights. We stayed at Eden Locke. We wander around Old Town and New Town enjoying wonderful meals and Rose St. We toured Edinburgh Castle and explored coffee shops. When picked up a rental car and then drove ourselves to Oban. On our way we went by Loch Lomond and stopped for a golf lesson at St. Andrews. We stayed at No. 26 by the Sea and enjoyed the gorgeous bay views. We spent 5 nights in Oban, where we had many day trips to Glen Coe, Isle of Mull, and Kintyre Peninsula. We went by Glenfinnan on our way into Speyside. We stayed at The Dowans Hotel in Aberlour. From there we enjoyed trips out to the Moray Coast, Inverness, as well as a fishing excursion on Tulchan Estate. We finally drove back to Edinburgh for our last night. We ended our lovely trip with a dinner at The Kitchin.

Emily and the Tartan Road staff made our 16 day dream trip come to life. We spent over 1 year and a half planning our trip due to Covid. They answered every question in a timely fashion and were knowledgeable about all the options available to us. From dinner reservations to local spots to explore to a private salmon fishing excursion they helped us build a trip that we'll cherish. They shared their favorite places to explore that went beyond any guidebook. Our trip felt less "touristy" and we met wonderful people at all our hotels and restaurants based on The Tartan Road's recommendations. They were conscious of our budget and asked thorough questions to get to know us to ensure our trip fit our personalities. Their team was available 24/7 when we were in country to assist us. I will definitely be using them when we visit again and would say you'd miss out if you didn't as well.

Just a fantastic trip to Scotland with its stunning scenery and hospitality . Tartan Road had booked us our 11 night itinerary and we stayed in 9 different places and wanted to take in as much of the country as possible. It was clear that every place we stayed from very nice hotels to family run bed and breakfasts had been personally vetted by Emily and the Tartan Road team and we had excellent experience. We also highly appreciated bookings in advance at this busy time of year to very good restaurants at each of our stop of points and well as clear highlights of things to do and places to visit.

Tartan Road provided outstanding level of service and clearly have outstanding knowledge of Scotland and its places to visit. They arranged a great itinerary with great places to stay as well as booking our restaurants and recommending places to visit and we would not hesitate to recommend their services or use them again for family trips to Scotland.

Helpful, polite, understood our requirements, efficient.

Emily arranged open train ticket Aberdeen to Edinburgh, car rental and one night hotel stay in Aberdeen. (I had a tour and some other arrangements that I did myself). She was there to answer any questions, provide directions and offer restaurant suggestions that do gluten free food in some of the towns I was in, and any other details that one might have. Always available. Many emails before the trip started, she is prompt, thorough and just fantastic to deal with.

Tartan Road is beyond excellent for customer service and products provided and making arrangements that the client doesn't have to worry about. I have complete faith in this company and in Emily, wouldn't hesitate hiring her again or recommending her to others.
