Days 1-3

3 nights Entamanu Ngorongoro – Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania

On arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport in Arusha, you will be met by your private superior guide and 4WD vehicle. A drive takes you through the pretty landscapes of rural Tanzania via Lake Manyara National Park to Entamanu. Spend your first full day in the Ngorongoro Crater - the caldera of the Crater is full of wildlife, including elephant, lion, wildebeest and black rhino. The next day, head out to do some activities in the local area like walking in the Empakai Crater.

Days 4-5

2 nights Nomad Serengeti Safari Camp – Serengeti Migration Area, Tanzania

In the morning drive back into the Ngorongoro Conservation area, down onto the seemingly endless Serengeti Plains. Much of this is communal land where wildlife lives alongside the Maasai and it's not unusual to see these tribespeople herding their cattle amongst herds of wildebeest and zebra. Crossing into the Serengeti National Park, you'll see wildlife on your way to Nomad Serengeti Safari Camp. The location of this safari camp moves every few weeks and broadly follows the pattern of the great migration - which really is a phenomenal spectacle. During your days here you'll decide with your superior guide when you want to head out on a drive, where and for how long.

Days 6-7

2 nights at Lamai Serengeti - Serengeti Migration Area, Tanzania

Drive through the Serengeti where there are an estimated two million wildebeest, half a million zebra and hundreds of thousands of Thompson's gazelle, amongst many other herbivores, within the park. Your destination is northern Serengeti and the beautiful Kogakuria Kopjes upon which stands one of the parks relatively new camps, the very smart Lamai Serengeti. There is a good concentration of wildlife here year round and between about June and October the camp is situated right where the migration usually passes through. Its proximity to the Mara River means you might be lucky enough to witness one of the great wildebeest crossings during these months too.

Day 8

On your final morning in Tanzania, drive to the nearest airstrip and catch a light aircraft flight to Arusha. From here, either continue on to one of our beach add-ons in Zanzibar, Pemba, Ras Kutani or the Mafia Archipelago, or connect with your own onward arrangements.
