A successful ascent of Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, is achievable by any fit trekker. The key to reaching the top is good acclimatisation which we begin with a trek up Tanzania’s second highest peak, Mount Meru, 4,556m/14,947ft. This trek takes us through different vegetation zones, with an abundance of wildlife at lower levels and wonderful views across to our ultimate goal. Leaving Meru we truly begin our Kilimanjaro trekking holiday on the varied and lesser trekked Lemosho route. This path climbs through beautiful, peaceful forest to reach Shira plateau from where a steady ascent will take us to Stella Point before the final push to the summit of Kilimanjaro. Trekking to Uhuru Peak amongst the vast glaciers and watching the sun rise over the African plains is a magical experience – the perfect conclusion to your Kilimanjaro trekking holiday.

Thousands of mountain lovers undertake a Kilimanjaro trek (affectionately known as “Kili”) on holiday every year, and Mountain Kingdoms provides a Kilimanjaro trek that gives you the best possible chance of reaching the summit.
