As the byline for the holiday stated La Gomera is a 'Magical Island of Eternal Spring', and it is certainly the perfect antidote to a chilly and damp January the UK. The walking is excellent with good quality paths, in an ever changing landscape which ranged from semi-desert by the sea, to the cloud forest around the peak of the island. Some of the walking is quite tough going if one avoids all suggested shortcuts, as the climbs can be long and steep, but it is very rewarding. All in all an excellent week away.

All worked very smoothly, as usual with On Foot, and all we had to worry about was the walking and eating, both of which were excellent. All dealings with the office were faultless, whilst the local contact was only a message away if advice was needed whilst we were in La Gomera.

A self guided walk on the Island of La Gomera based on 3 centres. A strenuous walk, but everything was extremely well organised. Daily notes with options made it possible to adjust our itinerary to my energy levels. Accommodation & transport were excellent too with lovely helpful hosts at each place.

The back office and local teams provide excellent support before, during and after our holday.

We booked our La Gomera walking holiday with On Foot because we had seen that they had won a sustainable travel award. Their web site looked good and they had a UK address. We thought that might help with communications. We have lots of experience in mountain areas and wanted to do a self guided walk, not as part of a group. On foot provided excellent support, their response to our questions before the holiday were very quick, clear and helpful. During the holiday we got excellent support in adapting the walk route and the amount we walked and the amount we used the luggage bus and local buses to suit our fitness and health at the time. The hotels were very good, in some locations there is not much choice! the maps and the GPS app were bothe excellent and helped us to stay on route.

On foot were very efficient, helpful, well organised and flexible to our needs. All excellent.

A seven day self-guided walking holiday on La Gomera. Stunning views and fascinating landscape. Luggage transported for us and comfortable, clean accommodation.

We have used On Foot for several years. Their itineraries always seem to get the balance right between length of walk and difficulty. Clear instructions, good accommodation and helpful local rep. Food and wine are important too and On Foot get that!

Wearing many layers in foggy cloud forest down to arid desert garden areas...and back up again! Very diverse and fascinating walk in a lovely, uncrowded and magical island. Finished with a stay in the historical and elegant Parador hotel in San Sebastian. Every detail was meticulously covered by On Foot Holidays -- from walking route notes to inns to meals and transport. A very enjoyable and wonderful getaway!

I went for a week to La Gomera hiking with my 20 year old son. We had a lovely time.

Good combination of a walking on day and a stay local day in each of the village bases. Fantastic sense of achievement, with some big climbs and walking up to, and over the top of, the island. Really interesting scenery, and walking routes.

Very well organised, with thorough notes and guidance. A much more personal feel than some of the bigger walking holiday companies. The On Foot holidays app, with linked GPX files was a great help, as was having a local contact to sort out any queries.

On Foot Holidays organised a really wonderful break in the Canary Islands - 3 days of walking in the volcanic landscape of La Gomera. All accommodation booked & organised. Route directions & GPS tracks provided, and a local guide contactable by WhatsApp.

This was our 8th self-guided walking trip with On Foot Holidays. We flew to Tenerife then caught a ferry to La Gomera, our base for the week. The walking was superb, following carefully planned routes through stunning, unspoilt mountainous scenery around the island. The accommodation en route was excellent, and the hosts very welcoming.

On Foot Holidays provided excellent route maps and detailed notes, so getting lost was not a problem. A local route adviser was always available by phone to give assistance, provide weather forecasts or to book restaurants. Overall, On Foot Holidays provide excellent customer service, from original booking right through to returning home.
